not sure if this will help, but try: http://www.vietnamrelief.org/history.htm

This organization is founded by Chinh Chu and Ha Phuong- Chinh is an investment banker who works in New York City and lives on Long Island. He has served on various corporate boards. Mr. Chu, a founder of the organization, was born in Vietnam and moved to the United States at the age of 9. His wife, Ha Phuong, is a Vietnamese singer who moved to the U.S. in the 1990s and travels back regularly to Vietnam, where her parents still live.

Vietnam Relief Effort is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that seeks to bring aid – through education, medical and relief projects – to impoverished regions of Vietnam.

Since then, Vietnam Relief has branched out into other projects. We’ve built modest bridges to ease transportation in remote areas and funded eye surgeries for the vision impaired. Currently, we’re working on building and expanding schools in Vietnam so that kids can have a better chance at learning, and at life.
