so where do i go to find her in vietnam,i think she was born in saigon or near there. i have pics of her mom and baby.my dad told me on his death bed,of half sister there.dont have money to hire someone like P.I..dont have names of the mom or the baby.i think half sister might be in late 30s or early 40s.so im wondering if there name of my dad at a hospital where she was born or if she has my last name .so where do i goto look up names at hospitals online in vietnam so anyone can help.

I heard of a similar case on Unsolved Mysteries, but I think they don't have that show anymore since the host died. Try something similar to thjat.

Given the situation you described. I am sorry to hear about your father. Since you have limited financial mean, try the easiest or closest first, maybe she got out of Vietnam. There is a National Congress of Vietnamese Americans, see below that cross references it member organizations. If there is one close to you, contact them to see if they have any information or they help you find information about your half sister. If they have a registry you have the approximate age of your half sister then MAYBE you can contact some of those women. Then take the next step in looking in Vietnam. By then hopefully more information on Vietnam will be available online.

I am assuming that not much is available right now because Vietnam is going through a boom in Open Market economy. Remember they are a communist society and just catching up like China is. And many pieces of information in China is hard to find online right now.

unfortunately this is not enough information. you see IF there was a record of you dad being her father she would have been declaired an american citizen and alowed to come here years ago[ i forget what that "act " was called]... i've located americans over here for vietnamese over there ... but i've never been successuful the other way around ... never had enough info... if you get more let me know ... i'm going back soon.
there is a way to put your picture [ or your dads picture]on viet nam tv [ at least there used to be] but you'd probably get 100's of responses......

It would be almost immpossible to find her... If you knew someone there, they could put notices in the newspaper there.....I lived there 12 years and I would like to find friends of mine but have given up
