I'm English and would love to move to Spain hopefully in the next 10yrs. In the meantime, I intend to master the language, travel there often and visit different regions so I have an idea of where I'd like to stay etc etc. My questions are, how do I go about emigrating and compared to the UK - what is the tax system like, what is like for pensioners, i.e. are they given a tough time like the UK (I have less than 30yrs to go but it's always good to ask...), is unemployment high, is crime as bad as it is here in the UK? Finally, is there an online national newspaper for expats that someone can recommend?

Books just don't seem to be enough. I think that maybe it's better to find out from people who have actually been there or lived there for some period of their life. The travel books aren't exactly the best thing but they do help. I guess I'm just searching for more help. I know I can look myself but like I said some of you lucky people have actually been there. I just need some of the places and landmarks and stuff like that.

Decent weather ideal for a family with a young child (4yrs).

And changed his name to her x boyfriend who treated her horridly, ie he earnt twice as much as her, but insisted on her paying HALF of everything, leaving her in near poverty. Oh and he also cheated...
I cant stand him, but willing to give him 2nd chance, but just not on MY holiday where I want to spend time with people I feel comfortable with...

literally how far have you travelled/would you travel to meet a friend. Me and a good friend once drove all the way from Brussels to Valladolid(about 1000 miles) in one day because he wanted to meet a few friends(luckily our boss sponsored gas, tolls etc)
only to head back the next morning. fortunately the girls we met up with were so impressed they showed us a great time. so what's your craziest trip.

can anybody tell me how i can get to salou from barcelona airport. i have looked all over the internet and it seems the cheapest way is by train. however this seems like too much messing about. i would just like to get a straightforward transfer from the airport to my hotel in salou but its going to cost 150euros each way in a taxi or 90euros in a private minibus transfer. this is way too expensive seen as tho i only paid £36 return for my flight from the uk!
