I work in Alicante airport in Spain, all BAA airport restrictions have now been relaxed for flights into the UK - EXCEPT flights to Heathrow and those from the States. At the check-in for AENA airports (the Spanish airport authority) we allow hand luggage as normal - ie you may take liquids, food, drinks etc. on board. The only restrictions are on the usual "dangerous" objects such as scissors, knives etc. and of course the size and weight of your hand luggage. Check your particular airline's web-site for their specific terms and conditions regarding the size and weight of hand-luggage. P.S. Despite one of the earlier posts, you may also take alcohol onto the plane, there is no problem. If you turn up drunk at any point though you will be refused boarding... you have been warned! lol

All the other answers are wrong, you certainly can take your own food and beverages on a plane but you can't take your own alcohol because people could get drunk and be anti social.
As long as it fits in your hand luggage.

I don't think you can now. I don't know a web site to look up. Just try looking up the airport or the company that you will be flying with (like Delta, Southwest airlines, ect.) maybe you can find what you need that way.

You couldn't last week, all i was allowed was my purse, passport, and medication that i was on. They gave me a plastic bag for it all. Things might have changed now as i flew out just after the terror alert. I would give your airport or travel agent a call before flying.

I think so but depending on which country you are going to,you may not be able to take them off the plane at your destination.

you used to be able to but in the current situation with terrorists and liquid explosives etc I'm not sure you can now. Everything has to be bought on board as far as I know. For now anyway.
