My partner and I are planning a few days away in Dublin in early April.

We want a nice hotel on a B & B basis that is fairly central to the city and within walking distance of bars/restaurants etc; but not too rowdy.

Can anyone recommend??

Also any really good things to do while we're there?

I'm looking for Elvis Impersonators to walk around at my wedding reception (don't ask!) Anyone know of a company that could provide around 3? The reception is in Co. Galway.

I would go to the individual people (i've found 2), but i don't know if having multiple Elvis' would be problematic. I assume they might be competitive, and i would rather just deal with one company or individual to take care of all of them.

Isn't it covered with centuries of other people's saliva and mouth goo? The mere THOUGHT of kissing the Blarney Stone grosses me out! Yuck! Bleah!

Spending a day in Dublin. Plan to park rental car & do the hop on-off bus. Best place to park? Also, can someone explain the parking card? Is it good in all car parks/all cities?

About 3 years ago, I met an Irish guy living in the states. We hit it off right away and starting seeing each other. Spent about 2 weeks hanging out together every day. I don't believe in love at first sight, but I've never felt the way I did with someone so soon as I did with him. He had to go back to Ireland for family reason's and was supposed to come back in 3 weeks. Unfortunately, due to stricter laws on accessing the U.S. he wasn't able to come back to live in the U.S. (I think he was here on an overextended visa) and I never saw him again. He called once and left a message, but that was it. I ran into some of his friends a few months after he left and they said he was living in Dublin. For some reason, I've never been able to get him out of my head and think about him from time to time. I'm actually going to be in Dublin for a few days during a Europe trip. My question is, should I try to look him up to see if he wants to hang out or meet up or just leave it alone?

The Irish flag is Green, White and Orange, maybe not in that order lol

My question is if the green and white is for catholics, does that mean the orange is for protestants or something like the orange march?

Anybody know what the 3 colours really stand for?

Visited two years ago. Went full circle from Dublin to Ennis to all along southern shore, back to Dublin. I felt like I was leaving home when I left, and been thinking of returning ever since.

I will be going over at the start of March for about three or four days. Can you suggest any good places to visit (not drinking holes though I think my friend will be dragging me to enough of those).

Somethings cultural and quirky would be best.

Thanks

In May 2008, we will be going to Ireland for a week. Leading up to our trip, we'd like to watch movies about the country or were filmed there. Please only recommend enjoyable movies, and either documentaries OR fictional movies would be fine. Also, movies with subtitles don't bother us. Thank you!

My husband and I are designing a pub in our new home. I would love ideas. Have you been to a Pub in the UK, Ireland or Scotland? Any ideas? We want it to be as authentic as possible.

I'm visiting East Ireland & Dublin - and am staying in Dublin in March. We have decided to stick to Dublin and the East & not travel outside of that. I would like to get a good idea of some of the scenery I shouldn't miss as well as the places I shouldn't miss. I have done some research on my own but would like to hear where you think I should go. I'm would like to see some amazing scenery, some historical places, and even some wildlife if possible. I'm open to tours also if you have been on them and suggest them.

Please do not respond with:
-Generic Ireland websites (i.e. "just go to visitireland.com and search for where you want to go")
-Information to far away from Dublin (If I had the time I would love to see the west & midlands.)

Thank you! :)
