I will be going over at the start of March for about three or four days. Can you suggest any good places to visit (not drinking holes though I think my friend will be dragging me to enough of those).
Somethings cultural and quirky would be best.

Hi there,
Within the city centre there are tonnes of excellent cultural and cool things to do!!!
If you want to learn more about the historical side of both Dublin and Ireland you should check out the museums on Kildare St. (Archaeology and History) and in Collins Barracks (Decorative Arts and History). They're both free and within walking distance of O' Connell St!
Dublin Castle is good too. You can get a guided tour of one of the most important buildings in irish history (the seat of british power in ireland for 700 years!). There is a great visitor centre and chance to view the old medieval foundatins of the castle!
Likewise, 'Dublinia' is a fun tour of the story of dublin from 12th century to about 16th century...you can do an audiovisual style tour and there's cool videos etc...it's a bit of fun!
Other interesting things to check out are Trinity College and the Book of Kells (one of ireland's oldest universities with an exhibition of an early medieval decorated manuscript!), the National Gallery on Merrion square and the Guinness Storehouse tour of the brewery.
By night, you should check out the Dublin Ghost Bus tour of some of the most haunted places in dublin...great fun!!! There are some great walking tours of Dublin by night of the darker side of Dublin City. Go to the Tourist Office on Suffolk St. to get more information about these tours etc!!!
Want to do some shopping? Check out Grafton St on the south side of the city and Henry St on the north side. Both are the best shopping streets in the city with large shopping centres, lots of variety and great street performers (especially on Grafton St.)!!! Temple Bar is just fantastic in general...great alternative shops, great restaurants (Luigi Malones is good and cheap enough) and cafes (check out Cafe Irie, intimate and tasty hippie cafe)! For fun, music, cocktails and great food, go to Thunder Road Cafe (a motorbike and rock n roll style restaurant like the Hard Rock Cafe)
As I said, go to the Tourist Office on Suffolk st. if you want more information and some original ideas to do while on holidays...have fun :-)

6.-The Viking Splash Tour ( This is a cool tour that brings u to all the key sites in Dublin City and @ the end u r brought in2 the water. The boat is half car half boat! More info if u go to Google Ireland and type in the word The Viking Splash Tour. I would recommend some other bus tours but i think this one is the bst!)

I recommend taking one of the tour buses, as you can see most of the main sights in the city on their routs. Also would be good to take the Dart north and south along the coast to see more of the area of dublin.
Also there are some day tours outside dublin to Glendalough etc which are good value.
I would recommend...
Guinness tour, any of the state museums, Malahide castle, dinner in taylors 3 rock or Johnny foxes pub. Phoenix park, the zoo, museum of modern art, kilmainham gaol, and of course head out to the mountains.

I know you asked for no drinking holes but your friend aswell as you might be intrested in the Guiness store house. I was there just last week and found it very intresting and there is a lovely few from the top. ( tell your friend they will be able to get a drink there) i would also recomend Christ chruch and Dublinia they are next to each other and a very intresting to.

i might want to point the completed bus excursion round Dublin. you'll see some outstanding issues. wonderful previous gothic homes. The excursion is like 2 hours (the completed one) yet you'll get off the bus at any time for sure.

why not take one of the excellent tour buses and get to see a lot more of the outskirts of the city I would recommend them

make sure you bring a flax jacket its murder central over there at the minute,stay well clear Dublin's a s++thole.
