Spending a day in Dublin. Plan to park rental car & do the hop on-off bus. Best place to park? Also, can someone explain the parking card? Is it good in all car parks/all cities?

I have never heard of the "Parking Card" unless you mean one of the Parking Disks that some towns (like Kilkenny) still use. Every part of Dublin has it's own rates etc. If you are looking to park for free it would be tough enough and city centre car parks are an expensive nightmare-My suggestion would be to park at one of the Luas stops and get into town that way-I think the car park at the Red Cow Roundabout Luas stop is free.

Central Dublin is difficult to negotiate in a car unless you know it really well because of all the bus lane and one way streets, so parking near an Luas or DART Station would be the easiest for getting into the centre unless you know your way around-I hope this helps!!
