I know first it sounds silly, but I read somewhere that the name 'Istanbul' originally means "We're going to the town/city".
Can this be true?
I don't know the origin of this word (it may not be Turkish, who knows).

Aykut Ergun lived in Croydon (South London, UK) between 1978-1983. He is about 44-48 years old now. He moved back to Turkey many years ago & I believe married & had children. (He may have gone into the Casino business but I'm not sure?). Can anyone help please?

Im back in Turkey at the end of July for 2months and im not sure where i should go this year. Im definetely going to Bodrum but not sure where else i want to go.

I really want to go to Safranbolu and Amasya, as ive seen pictures and it looks like a beautiful place.

I love the beach, im not into clubs. Somewhere that feels like Turkey (when i went to Fethiye it was all British tourists that i felt like i was in England) And somwhere i wont get bored.

Is their any places you would recommend that you enjoyed.

My parents are having a villa being built in Kas. We are going out in April to set it up and buy furniture. We are concerned that we may not find enough selection to choose from. The builder happens to be the mayors son who is very nice and seems trustworthy. He is going to take us to Antalya to shop.

We live in California and so buying furniture here and shipping all the way to Kas will be too expensive. We want the villa to look turkish but I haven't found many sites online with couches and tables that we like (guess we want some furnishings to look more western european).

Does anyone know of any webites of Furniture stores in southern Turkey on the Med (Turquoise coast), we are in Kas?

i been asked for marriage more than a few times from total strangers from turkey ( many), aren't there good women there? or what is up with that? this are no kids playing games, i seen nice, handsome, educated men doing this.
