hi there, we are planning on visiting alaska for about a week or so for vacation.
1) I am totally confused about which is the better option - cruise or road travel,
2)what are the must see places and must do activites.
3)if I take a cruise, will I be able to visit the denali national park and the north pole?
4)how are day cruises? has anyone tried them out?
5)we are looking to travel in may as it seems the cheapest, would the weather be unbearable or pleasant enough?
6) we are interested in nature, wildlife, trying out new cuisines and a little bit of hiking around. please give us your suggestions.
thanks!

Lately quite a few cruise ships have had outbreaks of everything from stomach flu to food poisoning... if you won a cruise to go on one of the ships where people either got very sick or even died, would you go on the ship?
No, turning in the winning cruise tickets for cash would not be an option.

We are cruising out of Miami in November. I haven't made reservations yet and am looking for the following:
1. Cheap -- nothing over $120 per night, incl taxes.
2. Free transportation to/from both Miami airport and the port of Miami

I don't really mind where I stay as long it is clean and not in a bad part of town.

So I'm trying to book a 6-8 day cruise cruise out of Seattle to Alaska for a group of six people (4 people ages 20-25, and 2 people ages 49-52) just had a few questions (currently working with different travel agents for options but just wanted to get more opinions):

1) suggested cruise line for our budget (around 2,000 per person) and age group..any cruise lines that may have family suites that could possibly hold all six (rather than just 4)?
2) What's the best area of alaska to cruise if we want to see glaciers, whales, etc...(i.e. inside passage?)
3) How will the weather be in the first week of July as opposed to the first week of August?
4) Any must do's / must sees on an alaska cruise?
5) for those who did this cruise and had a balcony, i heard most people don't use them at all, because it's pretty cold..is that true? (I live in Seattle so i'm used to Seattle weather).
6) any additional info, recommendations, questions?

Thanks a bunch!

My husband and I are going on a cruise the end of September and we have never been on a cruise before, so I was just wondering what all I should take with me and what all they allow you to take with you. I'm sure about anything you want but I don't actually know. We are doing the Imagination Carnival fun ship 5 day western caribbean cruise from Miami. We will visiting Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios, has anyone been? Is it a lot of fun?

why do you pre-tip? i've heard between $200-$400, that seems alot for 7 days that is 1/3 the cost of the cruise itself. and who do give the money to.

I don't know where or how long. I'm just in the beginning stages of planning and trying to get ideas on costs for the various options from people who have been.

Probably a round trip from Washington state. We live in the deep south and really don't know what would be best and the price probably varies alot.

Never been on a cruise. Kinda scares me. Are the rooms small? What do we pay for - options/ upgrades/packages that are worth it? What do you do on cruises? How much should it cost? How much should I bring with me and my husband?

My Grandmother, Sister and I are going to Alaska and I am wanting to know who would be a better cruise line to take. My Grandmother has taken a cruise to Australia with Princess Cruises, and she loved the service and food. So we are considering going with them, but the also have alot of older people there, and they aren't as kid friendly as Royal Caribbean is. Does Royal Caribbean have good food and service like Princess. Also I love Photography and Videography, so if any of you have tips or ideas of places to see or do, Please let me know

My husband and I are taking our first ever cruise in March 07. We haven't received package from travel agent yet so we don't know what to expect. Any suggestions for us? What are fun things to do on board (we're cruising Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Sea)? What land excursions do you recommend for the over weight - fairly non-active type? Our stops include Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto vallarta. How warm will it really be in March? Do we need to bring dressy clothes for dinners etc.? What about medicine in case one of us gets sea sick? Oh...so many questions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
