We are cruising out of Miami in November. I haven't made reservations yet and am looking for the following:
1. Cheap -- nothing over $120 per night, incl taxes.
2. Free transportation to/from both Miami airport and the port of Miami

I don't really mind where I stay as long it is clean and not in a bad part of town.

I would suggest looking up the Port of Miami to find hotels in the area. Usually you can find one that is right across the street which cuts out the cost of taking a cab or public transportation to the port. Or you might be able to find one that offers a free shuttle to the port. However, you can't usually go wrong with the smaller hotels like Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, Days Inn, etc. If I were you, I'd check some of the more popular websites for hotels like: www.hotels.com
www.aaa.com
www.orbitz.com

The Sovereign Hotel, it's on Collins dr. in Miami Beach. You won't pay more than $100. It's about 20-25 minutes away from the port, which is like a $15 cab ride.

Have fun!!

Holiday Inn - Coral Gables. It had a free shuttle to and from the Port of Miami and Miami International Airport.

The port for the cruise ships is so excellently placed. in case you don't want to flow the McCarther Causeway and challenge into South sea coast, yet you want to stay close to to the port, your maximum acceptable wager is the stay contained in the Brickell area. there are various spectacular resorts there, which contain the Mandarin Oriental, 4 Seasons, and so on. and so on.
