I was happy and proud when the announcement was made that we had won the games but am now in total shock at the costs - why should the taxpayer be made to stump up yet more hard-earned cash to be wasted on this thing?

Was also wondering that since the taxpayer is having to foot the cost, do we not have a right to free tickets and a rebate on tax if the stadium is sold following the games? Surely if we have paid for it then we own it.

What do you think?

This is only true if you don't know anything about statistics. If you took each American State individually and compared them to the rest of the countries in the world, the number of olympic medals would be much greater in many other countries. For example, if you compare Belgium and Rhode Island, Belgium would win. If you compared Germany and California, Germany would win. It is only if you compared Germany with the whole US that US would win.
Arrogance?

I have been told that there are at least two Olympic sports which can have both men and women participating equally and simultaneously? Can someone tell me what they are, or at least what one of them is? thanks.....

Hi, I'm looking for info on Canada at the Olympics from 1920-1940. Specifically I'm looking for some famous athletes, and individual sports stuff.
I've already got Wikipedia stuff, please don't link to it unless you think there is something good.
Thanks.

What is your opinion of nude relay races?
Mixed men and women.
I would like to be a spectator, or even a judge.
The events would have to be desided. Like how to carry the wand and pass it. I mean the emagination could run wild here among other things. One day it could even be an olympic sport..
Opinions please.

Im a very good track and field sprinter and i sprint short distance. We are starting first w/indoor track and field. My best event is the 55 meter dash, the 4x160 and 4x80(we all run half a lap) & this is high school track and field. I ran x-country hoping 2 get some endurance, but after that was over i did no running on my own, AT ALL! so now we are going to have open track where we can come & sprint/run whatever we want. I have 2 months left before the season starts. & im wondering what kind of workouts i should start doing since some girls have already started 2 run. oh, yeah, the season starts in January. Im one of the best sprinters in my school & im scared that the other girls will beat me, PPPLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAsssssss... help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
