No...they do it so they don't look out of place. Did you ever see a hairy jogger? I never have.

Not really. Water is compeltely different than air. Water has more resistance, therefore shaving one's legs I guess helps more with swimming than running. With running, I think it's really stupid, only influences probably 100ths of a second, and people just do it to "feel" sleeker. The hair grows there for a reason, I'm a runner, and don't need to shave to get faster. That is what training hard is for.

I did a bit of research and the general answer I have discovered is that either it doesn't help you run faster, or there isn't enough evidence to prove it does. It makes sense that it might help a little bit, but not much. Lots of athletes wear bodysuits or tights to run/swim faster, so it would make sense that by removing unwanted hair from your legs that might slow you down a little bit, you would run faster. It does help to streamline the body, by giving the air as little as possible to feel resistance from. For example, someone with a bald head would run faster than someone with a head full of lovely long locks because the air would get caught in the hair and slow the person down.

it's all about aesthetics(the look) it's easier to get in those body suits. Have you tried getting in those suits with hair? I've seen guys lose patches. plus runners are very vain and it matters when you win you have to look good, outfits for particular meets used to be planned months in advance, sometimes up to a year in advance. only training is gonna make them run faster you can all the hair or not but if you aren't fast or train well shaving isn't gonna help you.

The theory is that shaving body hair reduces drag and therefore makes you run faster. They only gain maybe a hundredth of a second or two, but that could be enough to win the race.

Shaving for swimmers make them swim faster because the hair on your legs can slow u down and swimers need that half a second to win sometimes.....Maybe it is the same with runners to.

Yes, shaving legs does help with times a bit. It could make some hundredths difference. Usually though, only the really long distance or really short distance people do so.

I do not know about running but I do know that shaving as much hair off your body when swimming will make you swim faster.

dont shave your legs if youre a guy. It wont make you speedier via very lots in any respect, according to risk lke 1 / 4 of a millisecond, if even, even though it wont be very eye-catching to the girls
