World cup 2006 will see more dissappointments as the countries expected to do well give way early on in the tournarment. As the top countries will have to eliminate each other in the next round, we might see the minoes making it to the finals.

Should England lose against Sweden, it will find itself meeting with Germany in the next round. One of them will not progress even to the quater - finals. The same can be said concerning Argentina, Netherlands, Portugal and Mexico should Mexico go through - two of these teams will have to be eliminated. The same goes for Brazil, Australia (Croatia), Ghana and Italy(Czech).

The team that is not in dagerous spot in the next round is Spain, they sure are going to the quarte - finals.

So guys, who will make it the semi - finals?

There are going to be two games on at the same time today at 12:00 Pacific Time.
Paraguay vs Trinidad and Tobago

OR

Sweden vs England

i am thinking england game because they are better. so is sweden,
However... trinidad is the big underdog and i want to see them win.

Which will you watch, if any.

Both Sweden and Paraguay will have identical statistics in every department. Will FIFA have to draw lots to determine the runner-up? Both Sweden and Trinidad & Tobago will finish on 4 points and both will have scored 1 goal and conceded 2 goals. Obviously, they drew 0v0 with one each other. As such, they cannot be distinguished from one another. I therefore presume that FIFA will have to draw lots to determine who qualifies? Have any teams ever been in this situation before in the world cup?

In this year's world cup, of the thirty two countries fourteen are from Europe, almost half of all the countries at the world cup. How do they decide on the number of countries that should qualify per continent?

Does it have anything to do with the love for the game? And if does, does Europe love football more than other continents? In some continents, only one team qualified in a group - the one that finished on top. In some continents however, two to three teams qualified.

Can someone clear this confucion.

As you guys know tomorrow mexico play portugal the odds look bad for mexico however portugal has not been playing up to their potential. tomorrow they will duel it out. mexico has tons of insetive such as a $200000 per player bounus on top of $7500 portugal has only a $7500 insentive. the Portuguese goalie has promissed that if he can stop a goal he will moon everyone. the Portuguese have made many promisses mostly erogant and cocky once. do you guys think Portugal with its confidence and all stars will take it or will Mexicos incentive and their stars take it?
