It seems that, eventually, all great teams of prolonged excellence becomes hated sooner or later, at least by most people not part of the team's fan base. It happened to the Yankees. It happened to UCLA and Duke. It happened to Notre Dame. The Celtics, the Lakers, the Bulls. Now, it is happening with the Patriots. We can't stand it when a team stays on top for too long. Why is that? It is all about simple jealousy, or is there a deeper explanation?

If Seattle wins their first game, could they either play the 'Boys or the Packers? What decides it? What circumstances are there in which it is decided who the Hawks will play first?

If you were allowed to give your favorite football team a theme song, what song would you want it to be?

My favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys...I would give them something like 'Paradise City' by GNR or 'Don't Stop Believing' by Journey.

What is with people always picking fights about whose team has the "classier" fans? Last time I checked, watching the NFL wasn't the same thing as attending a tea party with your grandmother. I didn't think having class was an issue when it came to being a sports fan. Every team has good fans and bad fans. A few bad fans shouldn't soil the name of the rest. Let's spend our time talking about the teams, not each other.
Can the class arguments stop? Your toughts?

A few nuggets of truth:

SuperBowl 39, Pats 24 Eagles 21
SuperBowl 38, Pats 32 Panthers 29
SuperBowl 36, Pats 20 Rams 17

Caught red handed while video taping Jets signals (why?) this year. The tapes were turned over and punishment handed down (coach admits guilt). Last year, during a game, the same assistant, Matt Estrella, was caught taping during a game, but just "asked to leave" by security because his credentials weren't valid.

Rodney Harrison, Safety, admitted to using HGH performance enhancing drug, suspended by the league for the first four games of 2007. Also of note, in 2004 and 2006 he was voted the "dirtiest player" in the NFL by his peers (poll hosted by Sports Illustrated).

***

Notice all three Super Bowl wins are close. This is not a dominating dynasty, it is a team 12 points away from 3 time SuperBowl loser. It is also a team that has just enough "competitive advantage" to win. An advantage that could be yielded from HGH and signal stealing.

I'm not "hating" on Jerry Rice as I believe he is the greatest receiver to ever play the game but why is it that everybody seems to think that Jerry Rice's record in a strike season is more impressive? Yeah he got it in 12 games but wasn't he playing against a bunch of scrub corners? I don't know the exact details as to whether or not Rice went on strike as well but if he did play didn't that record come against replacements? Thus wouldn't Randy's record be more impressive?
