5 runs of 66 balls. India doesn't want to only see off the new ball but score some runs too, what a waste of batsman like Dravid

He should not have been asked to open.I believe the team should have shown him some support in this difficult time of his. When a batsmen isn't playing well, then should you put additional responsibilities on him? Moreover, shift him to a new slot where you know he hasn't done well in the past......

What next now?Again ask him to open?Or maybe even bowl and keep wickets??Over the years we have asked him to open, bat at no.3,bat in the middle order, bat late in the order, bowl his off spin,be a wicketkeeper,be a thinking captain and he has always accepted these things gracefully but come on,when he is already in such a tough situation, why do they want to make it tougher for him??

A subdued Dravid, who needed 41 deliveries to get off the mark, never looked comfortable and was dropped by Phil Jaques in the gully and then caught by Matthew Hayden at first slip off a no-ball, both off Johnson's bowling. And he also survived a lbw shout before finally getting out.

India 55/3 30 overs runrate less than 2 rpo.
the aussies although they lost wickets scored at 3+rpo.
are the indians in a positive mind frame?
remember england were on the attack against srilanka only in the first day of the series. will it be the same for india?
will tendulkar score a century? will he have support from the rest of the batsmen?

who is going to win between india and australia on the match going on right now?

remember... australia became all out on first day with 331 and both of india's openers (jaffer and dravid) are both out with scores below 10.

It was an inspirational performance from our captain. He led from the front. Australia was none for 130 & he provided the very crucial first break through.
Then the big wicket of Hussey. And then Symonds & Gilchrist.
Hats off to Anil bhai.
Great cricketer .

Zaheer bowled one gem of a delivery to get rid of Ponting. I think that was phenomenal delivery. To get a top class batsman like Ponting out you need to bowl a top class delivery & Zaheer did it.
I think his first spell was also great. Jaques was struggling with the swing & seam early on.
Zaheer also got the most important wicket of Mathey Hulk Hayden. He was looking all set to score a big one.

So three performers of today -

* Brother Jumbo ( Anil Kumble)
* Hulk Hayden ( Mathew Hayden)
*Zack Khan ( Zaheer Khan)

Team India has not let me down on day 1 atleast. Well played. I am proud of them. Played some really good cricket.

Congrats to Dada for playing his 100th test match.
I am quite satisfied with our performance

Definitely Kumble proved to be an excellent bowler despite the fact that he is aging. To take 5 wickets against Australia in Australia is a big accomplishment for Kumble.

I hope he does not retire soon and continues playing for a little longer.

6 aussie wickets have gone and i can see that the current Indian team is performing way much better than their previous tours of Australia.

I feel Australia may not even make 400. Somewhere around 350 is what i predict.

Even pakistan was able to score 537 against india in their last test.

I feel the aussie batsmen do not even match the level of Misbah-ul-haq, right now.
