It was an inspirational performance from our captain. He led from the front. Australia was none for 130 & he provided the very crucial first break through.
Then the big wicket of Hussey. And then Symonds & Gilchrist.
Hats off to Anil bhai.
Great cricketer .

Zaheer bowled one gem of a delivery to get rid of Ponting. I think that was phenomenal delivery. To get a top class batsman like Ponting out you need to bowl a top class delivery & Zaheer did it.
I think his first spell was also great. Jaques was struggling with the swing & seam early on.
Zaheer also got the most important wicket of Mathey Hulk Hayden. He was looking all set to score a big one.

So three performers of today -

* Brother Jumbo ( Anil Kumble)
* Hulk Hayden ( Mathew Hayden)
*Zack Khan ( Zaheer Khan)

Team India has not let me down on day 1 atleast. Well played. I am proud of them. Played some really good cricket.

Congrats to Dada for playing his 100th test match.
I am quite satisfied with our performance

So,

* Who is the performer of the day ? &
* What was the moment of that day ?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The moment of the day for me was Ponting's wicket. That delivery by Zaheer was special. Top class bowl to get the wicket of top class player
India did exceptionally well on the first day as kumble led from the front. Restricting Australia to 243 runs from 100 for no loss is a great achievement. However, unfortunately India's famous battuing line up failed to live to their reputation and gave back the advantage to Australia on day 2.
I agree - the "moment" of the day was the superb ball from Zaheer to dismiss Ricky Ponting. That set the game nicely, and Anil was exceptional. What is very remarkable is the way Team India clawed back into the game after the morning session. (I must say, here, that Zaheer was rank unlucky in the morning session to not get the wicket of Phil Jacques - he beat him consistently!)
Having said that, the immediate task for the 'Men in Blue' will be to take the last Aussie wicket quickly and dismiss either Stuart Clark or Mitchell Johnson soon enough, and then, bat sensibly, and attack the ball on merit. The Aussies will be coming hard, and it is very important for Team India to ensure that they get a good first innings lead. Batting in the fourth innings will not be easy, so Team India needs to get a good healthy lead in the first innings to put the Aussies in the backfoot.
And I firmly believe that the Aussies, when in the backfoot, can be as vulnerable as any other team - just that, that they have so easily dominated most other teams that they are rarely on the backfoot.
I would like to see how Yuvraj, Sachin, and VVS Laxman bat in this test. Hope we get the right result for this series - an India-win!
Good spell by both of them. Harbhajan Singh and RP Singh struggled but RP atleast managed to get a wicket.
Anil Kumble showed that India won't collapse the way Sri Lanka did (in that series which Australia won 2-0, the late-order didn't face a ball with Australia declaring at huge totals/leads in all innings). He showed that after a bad start, a team can put it into a good end. That was for India.
I loved the way he bowled. He might have given runs but that doesn't matter much in tests unless u are wicketless (like Bhajji).
Any serious music fan that knows anything, or any person with an IQ over 70 knows that the Jonas Brothers are a joke and is only meant for little kids and teeny bops...Obviously you cannot compare the 2 and anyone who does is borderline retarded (when it comes to music). It's like comparing filet mignon from a 5-star restaurant vs. a Big Mac
this seems to be a match for the fighters, jumbo, hayden and zaheer are all street fighters and they rose to the occasion for their respective teams.
i expected the aussies to stick around after the fall of ponting but kumble showed us what pressure could do to even the best in the game.the variations showed by jumbo was excellent.
Dear Monti,
You are always positive supporter for Indian team . It is good. I switched off broadcast initially when I saw 1st wicket parternership.
I thought of recruiting people to buy plane ticket to go to MCG and do susu and tatti on the pitch. But later to my surprise Kaptaan Kumbel took 5 wickets. It is big achievement on this kind of pitch.
Best ball was the one on Ponting from Zaheer. Ponting got up in the morning and took his can of beer with beans and was ready to spread badbudar gobar gas on Inidan sportsman. He couldnt do much damage. That was good.
Sincerely
Rehman bhai
It was mixed performance for India. Although they took 9 wickets but Aus. scored 337. now as far is Kumble, its good day for him.
Not much interesting. We took 9 wicktets in 337 but that much score is also going to be heavy for us and still their last pair is playing. S. Clark is playing such that he will complete his fifty tommorow. Lets hope for the better. One thing is clear that if we win this test then only there Are chances of surviving in australia.
