Abey Kuruvilla was the first Malayali to play test cricket for India. He made his test debut for India against West Indies at Kingston on 6th March, 1997.
He has played 10 test matches for India. Though he was a Malayali, he was settled in Mumbai.
Tinu Yohanna was the first player from Kerala State to play test match for India. He made his test debut in 2001 and has plahyed 3 tests.
