In cricket, can two players be out in the same ball?

Like for eg, lets say a caught_and_bowled and a run-out at the non-strikers end

Is something like this possible as per the rules of cricket or does the ball becomes dead (out_of_the_game) the instant its caught by any fielder?

What are the specific rules covering this issue ?

im not talking about Street Cricket or Indoor Cricket, Im referring to Hardball Cricket Format.

- Bare Handed Catching = Worst is when its cold out
- Fast Bowlers Allowed to Hit the batsmen - and currently international bowlers throwing at 95Mph , makes it even more dangerous.
- Close-in Fielding Positions: i.e Short Leg and Silly Mid/Point (Check out the pictures below, i realize some of the fielders wear a helmet and shin pads but their chest and hands are still in the line of fire. btw people have actually DIED fielding in those positions.

Ay' we've got this junior match coming up in an hour and a half and its raining now but expected to clear. Anyway have you got any tips or advice to winning a match in the wet. We're chasing 227 with 47 overs, and its quite a small ground and the pitch is synthetic.
