I think he should, cause in cricket players start degrading after they hit 35..cause stamina and endurance is Huge Key in Cricket, but in Baseball where not much Stamina or Endurance is required, and u can practically play till ur 50, several e.g, John Franco, Clemens, David Wells..

even though gilchrist is not the best Cricketer, he can still do some damage, i reckon he wont be a power hitter because of his size but he can play for average.

I think sledging started in Aussie. It mainly takes the form of an insult designed to upset opponents to bring about their downfall.
Usually the public are not told what is said but it can get pretty rough. The umpires keep the insults within modern bounds which means that just about anything goes except racial insults. Those come from the crowds.
