Australian team is so different from the other teams in the world
in Australia Every major international cricketer has a backup which means once a major player in injured he can be replaced by another suitable cricketer
Steve Waugh retired from the australian side and he was instantly replaced by ponting
and ponting is doing a good job not only as a batsman but as a captian
so i dont think Australian has any problem beating south Africa without lee

In place of Brett Lee, Australia have selected Stut Clarke, who is a good bowler and have performed better than Brett Lee at times.

If Australia play to their potential, they are capable of defeating South Africa as South Africa though a strong team are not
consistent and wilt under pressure.

South Africa can beat Australia with or without Brett Lee, remember the 438 runs victory last year. The only team I know South Africa can't beat is New Zea land.

Honestly I think it´s 50/50. (I´m South African)

That´s if either of the teams make the finals - lets not forget that there are some other really good teams out there.
I rate the Indian line up and lets not forget the West Indies have home ground advantage.

South Africa always have so much other political bullsh...t to deal with as well, meeting racial quotas, and the weight of the new rainbow nation on their shoulders, as if the pressures of the tournament are not enough.

Should be good though.

Yes. Especially late in the tourney. Truthfully having Clark back is a + in many ways he's averaging 1.5 wkts a match. Both teams still have a stack of weapons and either one can win on any given day. lLte in the tourney Sth Africa have shown mental fragility in the past and that is their biggest hurdle going into this tournament given their deserved favoritism.

Lee is not a particularly good one day bowler, as he seems to have slipped back into his old ways of speed at the sacrifice of accuracy. There are currently better options.

As an old cynic, I suspect that his injury was a good excuse not to play him without being seen to actually drop him.

I wish the Aussies could enable their cricket do the speaking, particularly of appearing like schoolboys and resorting to insulting your opponent with a view to get them out ! Its tremendously pathetic if that's what they could motel to with a view to win a sport. does not look they have any self belief in triumphing honest and sq. !!
