I bought my b-friend his favorite candy, a card, and some stuff from an adult store for v-day. He thinks that because I did not give him much, he should not have to do much for me. He gave me a necklace that belonged to his grandmother (only because his mom gave it to him to give to me). He thinks that v-day is not all about the girl and he should have gotten more if I wanted more. He wont even take me out to dinner! Is valentines day more about the girl or shoud the gifts be equal?

i just happend to go through newsaper and i use to notice for a a couple of years that all newspapers mostly carrly pictures of girls on valentines day and rarely any boy. . what do u people thik about that.

So, I build the courage to ask my boyfriend why he didn't get me a Valentines gift. His answer, does not believe in giving flowers because it's like giving flowers to the dead. And that Valentines it's a commercialize holiday. However he was unable to explain on why is it that he then gave roses and cooked for his exgirlfriend. I was so upset, that I just dropped it. I feel as I am not worthy enough to not receive a thoughtful gift from him on Valentines or any time of the year. I am just so dissapointed and sometimes don't feel as I should be with him...........

I got my boyfriend a valentines. Alot of thought went into my gift. I got him a movie, candy and 2 cards. All I got from him was a card. And his parents took us out to eat. we did not even spend it together or he did not even offer to pay for ours. 2 years ago he gave me a gift card for a massage. So what has changed this year? and should I be as upset as I am?

Hi, I've posted the qn on the implication of not getting any flowers on Valentine's Day and what shocked me is he can order online CNY hampers for his customers (from noel gifts) but not any flowers for me. I spent 2 evenings till late shopping for his presents and card (and spent quite a sum) but I get cheapskate stationary for my presents. I really don't know what to say. I feel very sad. I got a feeling he's trying to "educate" me in not receiving any flowers on V-Day in the future and I'm not an understanding gf if I ask for them (in that I want him to burn a hole in the pocket) 'coz they are extremely expensive on that day.
