I know I'm playing into their hands by giving them attention, and no doubt they will have a horn all week, but let's do something to get this site back!
We can start posting in the business and finance section perhaps? Or we can start our own site where you need to pass an IQ test to post!!!!

I'm a straight (as far as I can tell. I might turn out to be wrong later.) 95-grade-average teenage girl who sees no problem with gay or Lesbian relationships, marriage, etc, and also sees no problem with abortion. My parents are Christians, who are tolerant of gays and despise abortion (but never really told me about either. I never got the Sex talk; junior high bus trash-talk taught me well enough). My question isn't about whether it's right or wrong (God hasn't struck me down yet, so smite me, oh mighty Smiter, for daring to speak of such atrocities! If you're up there, come get me! Extremist anti-gays, sic your God on me; tell me which road to take to hell! Until then; people like me aren't going anywhere.).

But enough religous drivel. What I want to know is what you think really affects your beliefs; your parents' beliefs, or what you're raised with in the media, or other? (please don't say only you affect your beliefs, because environment is a huge part of what we are.)

I've been on this section for 4 months, and up until a few weeks ago, found it to be entertaining, educational and enlightening (albeit, at times, controversial). I've even met some very nice people. BUT....Between Julia, Log Man and now the completely absurd Kathy, it has become a cess pool of garbage. No question, just an observation...discuss?

I'm not uptight...guess I'm just craving a little "adult" interaction...silly me...

what would you do, now, today, if you believed the scriptures about karma, and if you believed that being homosexual gives you bad karma that you'd better get rid of, for your own good, in the future....it's like god telling you that you will not enter the kingdom...how does that affect you on a serious basis...are you really so much into the now that you don't care about the tomorrow? see, we people who come here to tell you those things aren't doing it because we hate you, but because we want to do you good. why can't you see it?

i have never thought this way, some people are soooooo disrespectful, disgusting, mentally disgusting sociopaths that would SCARE THE HE*L OUT OF ME if i met them on the street......there's a lot of me that after reading this last sicko one, makes me think Y-answers just isn't worth it. I really love the answers of a LOT of people here, but there are some who are so disgusting it makes me think about how having them on my computer is like having them in my home. That kind of creeps me out. Do you think that way too?

I am a 15 year alcaholic and drug addict.
Apparently i had about the worst heroin, crack, alcohol, methadone and valium habits in britain (according to the relevant authaurities).
I gave it all up 18 months ago.
At that point met my partner and started to become extremely wealthy.
I was creating the wealth in order to have gender reasignment.
This was the reason that i was taking the drugs.
Now, the partner i have says that they will leave me if i have it done but god is telling me to do it and that it is the reason that he made me exeptionally good at trading currencies. I am also so madly in love with my partner, i do not know if i can face life without them.
What would you do.

I have a few people that I know, that while they are not homphobes, still act as if I'm a second-class citizen because I'm a lesbian. In everyday life, while they talk about their life and relationships freely, they simply think that becasue I love other women that I couldn't possibly be as important as them.They use the word dyke as if I'm not around or as if it's okay to refer to a lesbian as that. Although I personally have no problems with gays and lesbians using that word as a term of endearment in the GLBT community, I don't think that straight people should just throw the word around. But that's my personal opinion and a whole different subject. Most of the people that I know including family members and friends, are totally cool with me being gay and would never disrepsect me and make me feel like less of a person. But I know most gays know what I'm talking about when you have certain people who act like they view you as an equal, but you know deep down they deem you lower.

buying makeup from "White" women. She didn't seem to think she was white. Do others? Then why does the gov say they are? And are Pakistanis considered white when they seceded from India, which is considered Asian? This isn't a racist question. Just a curious one.

National Coming Out Day (October 11th) is fast approaching, and my college's TINY (three students, me included, and two faculty advisors) Gay/Straight Alliance-type group (we are Q-FLAG- Queens Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is trying to figure out what we can do to not only celebrate it, but also try and raise awareness/recruit more members (so we can be an registered club!).

We are so small, we can't get any official money, but we've all agreed to chip in. So far, the best idea we've come up with is to make and distribute (on October 11th) rainbow ribbons for LBGT people to wear, and also royal blue (IS this National Coming Out Day's official color? Or just the Human Rights Campaign's?) ribbons for allies to wear.

I've been to the HRC's website and seen the theme for this year: "Talk About It!"- perhaps we might work that in somehow? Any and all ideas are appreciated!

Why have the GOOD Muslims, and I believe there are plenty of them, not done anything, spoken out against, protested against, had a big picture parade about the radical Muslim extremists that are defacing Islam threatening to kill Americans, and wipe Isreal off the face of the earth? Where are the GOOD Imams and Ayatolahs (sp?) preaching peace and restraint? Why is no one issuing edicts to stop the terror attacks in Iraq and Ireal? WHY WHY WHY?

Not to be mean. Does anyone find the Southern accent a dumbed down accent? When someone speaks with a Southern accent, they really "sound" stupid to me. I don't know why, I automatically think "dumb" when I hear a Southern person talk. Does anybody else feel this way? I feel terrible for it, but I can't help it.
