No. I have a good man & I know it. And I didn't have to loose him to know that.

DEFINITELY !! I have personally experienced this term/ phrase, several times. When things that I took for granted were suddenly changed or taken away is when I realized that I didn't know (appreciate) what I had till it was gone. Everything was going as usual, normal, then one night my mother was killed in an auto accident....I didn't know what I had till it (she) was gone. She was gone and I didn't even get to say goodbye. I'll never hear or see her again. There are so many things I'd like to tell her...but I can't. I didn't know what I had till it was gone I have several instances in my life that fit the same mode but consider: A high school athlete, good in sports, is in some sort of accident and suffers the loss of a leg. No more sports! Learn how to walk all over again! Learn how to drive all over again! Looks, physical appearance, are forever changed. Life itself will never be the same. The student probably didn't consider how much his legs meant and what it would be like without them. Now he knows what it's like when something he had is gone. Have someone tape something as small as your thumbs to the palm of your hand. Now try to do your normal, every day things without being able to use them. We won't realize what life will be like till we can't use something....till it's gone

I believe its true. We don't appreciate enough the things and people we have in our lives. They are the ones that give the colours to the masterpiece we call 'life' and we only realise how they really mattered only when they are taken away. We see the blessing when its no more. Sad, but true.
Have a good day!

oh i believe in that very strongly. you cant appreciate something until you can never have it again we take so much for granted to day that we have no idea how much that we did take it for granted or how much we loved it, how much we didn't love it enough. and now once its gone, its gone

ABSOLUTELY!
I did not realize how much my two older sisters were enveloped in my life until they were gone.
The first, and oldest, was murdered 9 years ago.
My next, two years older than I, died last November from cancer.
She was my world and I never realized how much until I had to experience everything this year (holidays, birthdays, etc...) without her.
I just feel lost.
She was my best friend, sister, and soul mate.
I hope she knows how much I love(d) her and miss her.

I do believe this, I also believe that you don't know what you were missing until you get it.
