I was driving home tonight with a friend, going normal speed and a baby deer ran out in front of me. There were not many cars on the highway so perhaps I could have swerved, but all I did was scream and brake as hard as I could-- but I still killed it. It thudded into the car and dragged for a bit, and when we finally stopped, it rolled a ways and then was not moving at all. The car was damaged a bit (I am paying for the damages to my friend's car) but I cannot get the experience out of my head and heart.
The deer was clearly dead and not obstructing traffic, so we just drove home. Did I do the right thing? Should I make any phone calls?

i'll be a freshman in university....i know what i want to be after i graduate...i know i'll love the job, and i like thinking about my life as it....what helped me was my teacher who talked to me about it after i told her my thoughts on becoming one, and of course, encouragement from others has helped me greatly...i want to be an OBGYN when I graduate.....i was wondering how others got to make their decision on their careers....did you really think about it? was it a parents's advice/choice for you? do you like your career? even for homemakers...do you like being a mom? is it the 'best job in the world'? did you have a career before being a mom or have one as a mother? please feel free to comment and suggest. thank you!

Just sometime thing I'm curious about...and ladies..using the word "chauvaniusts" is not the answer!

It seems chivalry is just about dead and gone because feminists are taking the pride out of the male role in society, Men are sued for being themselves and women are still beating men down, even those that don't deserve it.

For example, there's a "Womens studies" forum topic in this social scienc section...yet, No "Men's Studies." Another double standard?

I just read someone's question: why do Vegetarians feel the need to condemn meat-eaters. It made me think of the conversation I had with my daughters today. My daughter is a vegetarian, but I am not. She is a vegetarian because it bothers her for an animal to have to give its life to feed her. But she doesn't talk about it to others. In fact, she's kind of secretive about it because as soon as someone finds out she's a vegetarian they tell her things that really bother her like, "I love meat, couldn't live without it" or they'll tell her a story of how they lived on a farm and killed lots of animals. Just stories that in general bother her. Why do meat-eaters feel the need to gross out a vegetarian?

All I can figure out is she reported somebody, which p.o'd other people off. I tried finding out who she made angry and why the response is so egregious but I couldn't figure it out.
I found a couple of fake profiles trying to pick on her. Without knowing more details, I find myself thinking her self-appointed opponents are childish and silly.
Does anyone else support my views? Why or why not? 100 words or fewer, and the best answer will be selected.
