Food water shelter protection love are the needs.Wants are dining in a seven star hotel ,a plosh mansion with a swimming pool,lots of bank balance ,and beautiful faces to flirt with.

To answer this question in a simple manner, human needs include the basic needs (food, water, clothing, shelter) all summed up in the word "money". Human wants are whatever they have viewed to be important and are working on.
However, if a want is strong, it becomes a need. But if you have discernment (which is really really hard to have), you will see that what you think you want, upon closer inspection, could not be what you really want.

We studied in school that the basic human needs are
1)Food
2)Clothing
3)Shelter
The human wants cud be anything thing like
1)I want to become the richest person on earth
2)I want name,fame etc.
3)I want to become the perfect man/woman/mother/son/daughter
and like wise the wants go on....
Point to be noted is wants cud be never ending till one gets satisfied but needs are essential and a must hence the name "NEED"
With generations there are certain commodities which have gone to the need list like in today's world TV,Car,mobile phones have all become need as ppl cannot do without these in the fast pace society.Hence need depends upon the spending power as well as availability of stuff in the market...so the economics of demand and supply also come into play when u want to differentiate between 'NEED' & 'WANT'!!!
