Government of India has annouced a policy for the establishment of Special Economic Zones in State for urgent development of the Rural India. The idea is very good and it will definitely provide tremendous boost to the development of villages. What I feel that instead of using precious furtile land of our poor villagers we should use vast junk of our waste land for such purpose.

How can it be that water, which is essential for life and therefore a "valuable" a thing as can be imagined, is so inexpensive relative to diamonds, which are used for nothing but decoration (and some non-essential uses such as cutting)?

Shouldn't a bucket of water be worth a few dozen diamonds?

A mixed economy is one in which the benefits of capitalism are combined with an attempt to create a fair and equitable distribution of resources. All mixed economies rely on a state provided health care system in the belief that health care must be primarily owned, or at least tightly controlled by the government, if it is to operate in the public interest.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this conclusion?
