They are talking about raising the minimum wage to $6.75! Thats a 30% increase for everyone who was working at minimum wage $5.15 before. What about the people who make $6.80 an hour now? Everyone else gets screwed over.

The U.S. dollar is still weak despite falling oil prices, a strong U.S. economy and low unemployment rate. The greenback has been holding fairly steady but still can't pull out of its funk against the Euro, Pound Sterling and Canadian dollar. Does it have to do solely with our massive trade deficit? This is obviously one factor but surely those other things should be working in the dollar's favor. I thought the best place to get this answer would be in (what George W. Bush once called) the "dark dungeons of the internet". =)

I tell my wife that our expenses this year are going to be $100k and our income will be $60k. She gets all woried but I tell her not to worry, we will just cut our income and everything will be fine. At years end we find our expenses were only $60k but our income was only $40k. Will that make her happy? Well that's the same thing the administration did, purposely projecting an astronomical deficit so when in comes in lower they can say they cut the deficit. And the worst part of it all is that is goes unquestioned. Neither party wants to open up that can of horsecrap because they both use it and they want to keep the public ignorant. Am I the only one who see this? Does anyone have any ideas on how to make and keep our government honest and actually work for the good of our country? I will get a lot of stupid answers from the partisan crowd but it is a serious problem and I would like some serious answers, if for nothing else, just to know that people on both sides are aware.

Are you?

Last week I read sth here in Brazil about Chinese economy, 9% per year of NGP, an ascending country in every area of industry and lots American (and European) companies are, according to the reading*, moving up to there.

Does not it worry you? Waht do you think about that? Will the "Chinese way of life" (if there's one) be the XXI's century one?

That's it!
