They are talking about raising the minimum wage to $6.75! Thats a 30% increase for everyone who was working at minimum wage $5.15 before. What about the people who make $6.80 an hour now? Everyone else gets screwed over.

Absolutely every one else gets screwed over. We don't get an extra $1.60 an hour. We had to learn skills, show up to work and get promoted in titles and duties to earn more, they just have to show up.

Oh yeah and my favorite part, all the prices for everything I buy increases to cover the raises I didn't get. YEAH!

Democratic ploy to get poor people out to vote and screw over the middle class once again.

Anybody who isn't getting a raise equal to the December-to-December change in the Consumer Price Index is in fact making less money than they did the previous year. While the proposal is a 30% increase, the wage hasn't been changed in YEARS. And don't forget the massive devaluation of the dollar perpetrated by Dubyah (ahem, I mean, "jobless recovery to economic downturn"). Your homework assignment is to determine the constant-dollar value of the minimum wage as of it's last increase compared to this increase.

And all those making 6.80$ or even $68 an hour ought to examine this as well. Real dollar wages for all employees except CEOs have been falling over the last 20 years. The bossmen have tripled their pay. It's enough to make old commie revolutionary babble start to sound like sense.

Setting minimum wages doesn't work any better than setting maximum prices. I don't hear anyone clamouring for that. Why not just roll back prices to 1902 price levels that would be like increasing the minimum wage to about $75.00 per hour.

If the minimum wage was really a good idea and it really did anyone any good. Why not just raise it to $300 per hour and throw in a 400 hp sports car and a beach front condo. Might as well go ahead and make the gas price $0.15 per gallon.

I think that the minimum wage should go up whenever Congress votes themselves a raise.

I thought the min.wage was going to go up to $7.25(kansas)It's long over due, but the politicians are worried that they will not be able to vote themselves a $30,000 yr. raise if they up the min.wage. It is a DISGRACE! The American people better wake up and smell the crap that keeps coming down on us and make your voice be heard! I hope that the election will send a strong message to the people running the govt.tomorrow, that WE ARE FED UP!!
