Our skin color, hair type, body shape, etc, is merely a result of the physical adaptations our ancestors had to "make" in order to live in changing environmental conditions. So we are basically the same, just with external differences, right? How come are we still talking about "race" in the XXI century?

Most people do not believe human beings are animals. Aside from "reason", I'm curious as to what the belief is behind that.

Thank you for your time.

James Earl Jones, Barry White, Ja Rule, Tone Loc, DMX, Issac Hayes, etc. the list could go on and on. The only White guy I can think of who has that type of voice is Tom Jones. and every one says he SOUNDS like a Black man. I'm sure there are more White men with this type of voice also, but it doesn't seem to be as common as with Blacks. Likewise I know there are some of Blacks with voices like Michael Jackson, but not many. Also, I have never ONCE heard an east Asian with a bass voice, why not?

I'm having trouble in my Physical Anthropology class. I am taking the class online, so there is no teacher lecturing the info. I basically have to read 3 chapters in two weeks and soak up the info as best as I can.

This subject is proving to be very difficult for me. The first test I got a D, the second C/B. On the second exam I made flash cards and studied them and read all the chapters I was supposed to read(although I will admit skiming through the last chapter).
The flash cards seem to help a little, though.

What are good ways to prepare myself for this class? Hard sciences are NOT my strongest subjects. How can I study better? I'm willing to do hard work, but it's frustrating when I do put in work and it doesn't really effect my grade.

Help!

The way we think. Our language, our thought patterns, our sense of what is beautiful. Is it Roman?

The structure of our political systems (think republicanism in government, in the U.S. the Capitol, the Senate).

Our legal system, founded on Emperor Justinian's codification of Roman law in the Corpus Juris Civilis.

Our dominant religious system, Christianity, endorsed by Emperor Constantine, the latest manifestation of the ancient religion of the man-god mediator and redeemer, Osiris of Egypt.

Our appreciation of literature, poetry, and the expression of ideas, and our criterion of what is good and what is inadequate.

To what extent are we today really just the current version of the Roman civilization?

I'm trying to settle a dispute about gender differences in sexual promiscuity. My friend thinks guys sleep around more, I think it's probably about equal.

Where can I go to find out how many total sex partners males and females have on average (perferably in America)?

What is your definition of culture?
Does the concept of culture really exist to you?
Alight with the idea that shoes are shoes no matter what they are called and what they look like, being that human culture is one culture, because is one race.
Do you support the idea that: Culture is the similarities that individuals and individual families agree with or accept, amongst differences in values?

As I understand it, our species originated in one place.

All our "ethnic" characteristics are adaptations to the different climates to which we migrated.

So it follows that if a bunch of white families moved to central Africa and bred only with eachother, their descendents would eventually, after a certain interval of generations, be black. And same with black families to Norway or someplace. Correct?

[Some people seem to think I am actually proposing that this idea be tested, and they point out the practical limitations, like the epochal amount of time it would take. How stupid would I have to be? This is just speculative. My only object with this speculation is to undermine racist assumptions.]
