Considering I have 2 biological parents, 4 grand parents, 8 great grand parents... and so on and taking 25 years to a generation:
At 1000 years ago, if there were to be no inbreeding, I should have had 1 trillion unique ancestors. Is there a calculation as to how much inbreeding is there in all of us?

I wonder this due to all the ancient ground carvings that can only be recognized from high above. There are a number of reasons ancient societies might have made such things, most of which don't involve the existence of flying machines, but the existence of such machines in the ancient world is one possibility among many. For myself, I'm kind of on the fence but leaning heavily towards the skeptical side.

I am interested in Medical Anthropology, and had a few questions about the subject. What exactly is a medical anthropologist/ what do they do? How does one become one? How many years of schooling do you have to go through? What types of careers can someone have with this? Do you actually have to go to medical school [is a medical anthropologist a Doctor]? Any help is appreciated.

Taking one or several skulls from millions of years ago, can not prove fact 340 millions years later. The group of researchers trying to prove a "theory" to write a book about "Out of Africa"
to state a 'pin-pint' place & time mankind began, is absurd.

my instructor has assigned the class a 7-page mini-term paper for the semester. He says that it can be on any topic related to anthropology. I am thinking about writing about how multi-racial people live and interact in everyday life.
If this is a good topic, what questions should I ask when I interview a person for my topic(one of the requirements) any suggestions would be great!

Is it an evolutionary thing? Why would Caucasians develop red, blonde, and brown shades when the rest of the world was--for all intensive purposes-- dominated by shades of black?

There are legends the world over describing both "Giants" and "Little People".

Could this Flores Man and the midwestern US Giant skeletons be evidence of their existence at one time?

I just don't believe that most people think about the consequences of pro-creation. Without us, the world is much cleaner, nature works in sync with itself and senseless killing is almost completely unheard of.

I'm not asking about the ghetto mothers that have 8 children running around like animals, with 4 different fathers they don't know. That's just the animal nature that's a product of living in excess.

But I do believe that the more intelligent humans know, in the back of their heads, that pro-creation can not exist forever without a means of balance, and it's getting closer to a time when the people outnumber the resources. We just don't seem to have a solution, most people haven't even thought about it with any seriousness.

So what's your reason to reproduce?

Ok just so you know...I KNOW...but wondering how many people actually know what it means....

And if you are just looking it up...are you surprised at what it means? LOL

It's an interesting science...I would never have known that there was such a thing years back.

If you are one or have an understanding of it, why do you think it's so important in today's world?

I know marketers use it a lot.
