Being a scientist was the very first thing I ever wanted to be but life took me in a different direction.

I'm 25 years old and about 9 months away from a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems from Devry Online.

Right now I'm about to go to Iraq as a civilian truck driver. It pays about $100,000 a year so I figure ill do this for a couple years and save up some money, then come home and finish my education. At that time I'll be 27-28 and it could take anywhere from 2-8 years after that to earn the degree I need to get the job I want.

I kind of like Biology and Genetics. I like the idea of working with DNA to help people. Would I be able to make any difference in the world if I became a scientist? A difference that would make the years of studying worthwhile?

Do you have any general guidance for me? Do you think its too late?

Has anybody else notice the weird sweeping tone that clutters the space around 4539 khz? I am able to hear it on my shortwave almost 24/7, and so is my uncle who lives 2 hours away (which eliminates local interference) Is sounds like a transmitter that is rapidly going from a lower frequency sweeping to a higher frequency and then starting over again. at different frequencies the sound is different, sometimes with two tones but all near 4540 khz. this has been going on for at least a year now.

Why do scientists accept that random mutations and natural selection indicate that evolution has no purpose, while at the same time they reject that the fine tuning of the universe nature's constants for life does not indicate any purpose? Isn't that contradictory? I think we should accept or reject both, but can not accept one conclusion while rejecting the other.

Is it possible to give an unbiased answer to these discussive questions?

Creationism is an idea that Christians use to support their faith. It is not fundamental. They are not trying to punch people in the face forcing them to believe. There is much supported evidence that withholds Creationism as a provable theory. I, myself, do not agree with any Intelligent Design theory or anything like it, although I am a Creationist. I have read the facts of Evolution and Creation. I know my stuff. I am a Christian and I believe in Creationism. Although I am fed up with the anger and prejudice that evolutionists have towards Christians. This isn't a matter of science, it is religion. An Evolutionist and Creationist will debate, but they end up at the wall of what is to be believed. God isn't science. Why debate His existence in a scientific argument? Why are evolutionists so angry about the Christian beliefs? Why? Why? Why? So many weird questions that hurt to think about...

I'd really like to know, just out of curiosity, and I had no idea where to place this question so I'll hope I can get the answer from science.

When it's cold outside, we can see our breath. I'm not sure of the fundamental reasons behind this (you could explain that, too), but I was curious as to why we can't see it when we..you know, expel gas (from the rear end). Can anyone explain this to me?

I know it's silly, but I'd like to see the explanations. I'm not a scientist! =)

Is anyone bothered by sites like this? They do a real good job of spoofing science. I have checked up numerous "facts" and presumptions used by creationists all over the internet, libraries, and science teachers; these clearly hold no water. Isn't anyone worried that cleverly disguised "Scientific" creationist sites could brainwash our youth? I mean, they seem to have tons of "facts" disproving the scientific age of the earth and etc, but when you research them they are pseudo nonsense. They not only don't understand the scientific majority side, they don't even understand what they are saying. I am worried that these people and sites our doing harm to our society. Do we want to live in the dark ages?
