it's hard to make it consistently.

You can rub a balloon on your hair and the balloon will stick to a wall.

If you want to get static electricity to shoot out of your finger, usually it has to be really dry and warm in your house with really low humidity. Some days i can touch metal and it zaps me, but the next day, it doesn't work.
Maybe it also depends on what clothes you're wearing, or even what you've eaten.

Static electrical power is triggered through friction. - Lightning is generated through the separation of confident and poor expenses within the thunderstorms updrafts. - Charges grow to be separated whilst ice crystals collide with different ice crystals or hail inflicting the smaller fractured undoubtedly-charged debris to ascend to the cloud's best and the bigger negatively-charged portions (together with hail) to descend in the direction of the cloud's base. Fracturing is one more bodily method than the switch of expenses through friction. --- Lightning is initiated through the appeal of confident and poor expenses; nevertheless...the air acts as an insulator to inhibit the glide of electrical power. When the electric knowledge / separation of expenses builds up huge sufficient...it overcomes the resistance of the air and lightning happens.
