The question is Find one of the factors when x^2 - 11/12x + 1/6 is factored completely.

The answer choices are
a) x - 2/3
b) x + 1/6
c) x - 1/3
d) x - 1/2

I guessed D. but that's wrong.

The numbers Rsub1, Rsub2, and Rsub3 and R satisfy the following equation: (1/Rsub1)+(1/Rsub2)+(1/Rsub3)=(1/R).

A. If Rsub1=1 and Rsub2=2 and Rsub3=3, compute R exactly.
B. If both Rsub1 and Rsub2 are held constant, and Rsub3 is increased by .05, what is the approximate change in R?

Ok, I got part a, that's simple enough. I realize you can solve this easily using a calculator, But how do you do B by using linear approximation?

Its is prime
it is greater than 90
it is less than 100
it is not a multiple of 3

2) find x if x is prime and 23
3)The area of a rectangle is 36. What could be the dimensions of the rectangle if the lenght and width are whole numbers and neither is a prime number?

4)Find the common multiples of 8 and 20 that are less than 300

5)There is a prime number between 11 and 46 about which a teacher will answer three "yes" and "no" questions from her class. After answering the question, the first student to determine the correct number will get extra credit.
The students asked: 1. is it 5 or 6 more than a perfect square?
2) it is three more than a multiple of 7?
3)is the sum of its digits odd?
The answer were yes, yes, and no, respedtively. What is the number?

running the marathon ( 26.2 miles long)
Thina average speed maintained per mile is 11 min. and 15 sec. She is closer to the front and leaves the starting point at 8:02 a.m.
Manuel is farther behind at the start and he begins his run at 8:15 a.m. Manuel maintains an average speed of 5.8 miles per hour.
How long and at what distance(if it happens) will the 2 be at the same location. and at what time will both kids finish the run?

i need help understanding how to do it

okay hahaha last question. I have a test tomorrow so I'm trying to go over my quizzes to study. Anyways. I'm a little stuck on two of the substitution problems. the first one is just a checking problem.

I've been graphing the 2 equations to make sure I got the right answers, but on the one that is:

x^2 -xy + y^2 =13
I can't remember how to get y-alone. I had this problem before but I'm just not seeing it. But I only need that so I can graph it and check my answers. the second problem is similar

x-2y = 4
x^2 -y^2 =11

I tried get x by itself in the first one but I didn't want to have to square a fraction like that when I substitute it back into the second problem. So I solved for y in the first one and substituted it into the second one. well, I ended up with

5y^2 + 16y + 5 =0
I'm wondering if I did that wrong because it won't factor and I really don't want to use the quadratic formula. I had a negative number under the square root last time. thanx!!!!

Problem:
Suppose that a and b are coterminal angles. Also suppose that c and d are coterminal angles. Is it true that a + c is coterminal with b + d. If true it needs to be proven. If not it needs a counterexample.

Im not sure what is meant by this exactly.
