this ? Grigory Perelman of St. Petersburg , Russia says he doesn't want to be seen as a "figurehead"; yet, his work may determine the shape of the universe -which man could not do for the past 100 years .Why would it not be meaningful to be acknowledged for success after years & years of hard work ? Could his government have played a role in his snub of the academic world ?

One of tests commonly used to detmine if an infinite series is divergent or not, is the n-th term test, which is basically determining if the SEQUENCE converges or not.

We know that if the SEQUENCE a_n is divergent as n goes to infinity, then the series a_n also has to diverge. But the converse is not true. Just because a sequence a_n converges does not imply that the series a_n will converge also.

One such example is a_n=1/n.
My question is, does anybody else know of any other examples. Because this is only one I know and this is the only one my professors know of.

I need help with this math problem? You had a pizza delivered and in the pizza box there was a scratch card in the corner just barely touching the outside of the perfectly circular pizza. The scratch card measured exactly 140mm by 70mm. What is the diameter of the pizza in millimetres and round to the nearest millimetre. And if possible can you show me how you got the answer because I have another problem just like that one.

I understand the Calculus concepts, but the trig trips me up, esp. the sin, cos, etc. I've seen some sort of circle that uses pi and the square root of 2, but I don't have a copy, and I don't know what it means. Can anybody point me in the right direction? My hs didn't offer trig, and now I'm in college, and I'm having to play catch-up. Thanks in advance!
