In science, I learned that noise-cancelling headphones seem to block out noise by 'reading' the incoming sound waves and producing an exact match of each one, but in the opposite directions, so a wave with either a smaller frequency and wavelength or none at all is 'produced.' Heat from the sun travels in many different forms, but they are all waves, so couldn't the same thing be applied to the infrared or other waves that cause heat? I'm not saying to totally neutralize all incoming heat in all of its forms or even one form. I'm also not saying that I know this would work or that I know how to do it(I'm only 13,) but I just came up with it while I was watching 'An Inconvenient Truth.' Again, I have no idea how to do this, but can anyone tell me whether or not it would work?

In May I'm going on a field trip to Niagara Falls with my "advanced" Earth Science Class. I want to know ideas to raise some money. I'm already planning on doing a raffle with candy in baskets and a car wash with one of my friends. I probably need to raise $1200 so it will pay for the trip and I will have some extra spending money. I can't get a job so I wanted to get some new ideas. Thanks a bunch!

Why does the Foucault Pendulum at Griffith's Observatory in Los Angeles have a cycle time of 42 hours? The docents there can only blabber an attempted explanation, leaving everybody as confused as ever. Person with most convincing explanation for the figure of 42 hours without resorting to a wiki article wins 10 points, because the docents don't go around handing out wiki articles. What should the docents say?

the solid oil is turned into toxic gas, where there was once oil lubricating the plates there is nothing to prevent earthquakes, volcanos and sunamis caused by a drop in the earths crust...try draining the oil out of your car and see how far you get
