divergent-(mid atlantic ridge) North american plate and African Plate

convergent- Indo Australian and the eurasian Plate causing the Hymalayas

Transformative Plate- North american Plate and the Caribbean Plate. ( Between Cuba and Jamaica)

There are a few theories on what drives plate tectonics. One is the slab-pull theory. Plate motion is driven by cold, dense plates sinking into the mantle at trenches. This theory also says that convection also plays apart in the driving force, so the two are working together. This is the most accepted theory.
Divergent boundary- Is a constructive boundary where the plates are pulling apart and being filled in my new material or magma. These are found in the mid-ocean ridges.
Transform boundaries are conservative. They occur when plates slide, or grind against one another. The San Andreas Fault is an example.
Convergent boundaries are destructive. This is where an oceanic crust collides with a continental crust. The more dense plate; the oceanic crust generally subducts underneath the continental plate.
