I found an article in the Times UK edition about the discovery of a volcano on the moon.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,...
1. How do these eruptions behave with no atmosphere?
2. Would these previous eruptions affect the orbit of the moon? Would there be a wobble?

I teach science, 6th gr. We have a new science curriculum that discusses in length the "Rock Cycle", see link:
http://www.minsocam.org/MSA/K12/rkcycle/rkcycleindex.html
My problem is this - Is it accurate to describe this as a cycle? It is obvious the Earth's crust has been shaped by erosion, but I don't think the ENTIRE surface has been through the "Rock Cycle" for even one cycle. It might be applicable to less than 1% of the mass of the crust, or more probably much less than even that. So, how can we describe this as a cycle if very little mass has actually been through it?! Is the terminology just for convience sake?

The dome is supposed to dwarf any other volcanic dome in the world. I have heard some amazing numbers. Supposedly, there would be enough ash to cover much of North America and perhaps make the climate much colder by blocking out the sun.

there isnt an answer i know, scientists have proven how the galaxies have been formed etc etc, (really interesting =)) but one thing they havent proven....how did it all get there in the first place? how did the big ball get there to explode and create these galaxies? iam very interested in what people think of it. Maybe we are all here for a reason...maybe we are here to find our own path on Gods creation. That it is our responsibility to make ourselves happy in life on what God has made. finding everything out for ourselves. that maybe one day we can communicate with another planet outside our solar system. what do you think?
