Sodium azide, NaN3(s), is used to inflate airbags. On impact, the sodium azide is ignited by an electrical spark producing nitrogen gas and solid sodium. The Nitrogen gas inflates the airbag.

1. Using the information above, write a blanced reaction using the smallest whole number coefficient and physical state of each chemical.

2. In terms of atoms, what type of reaction is described above?

3. What is the total number of moles present in a 130g sample of NaN3(s)

4. Assuming all of the sodium azide reactants, how many grams of solid sodium are produced?

5. An inflated airbag has a volume of 5.00 x 10^4 cm^3 at STP. The density of nitrogen gas at STP is 0.00125 g/cm^3. What is the total number of molecules of nitrogen gas in the airbag.

Thanks!

We're doing this qualification lab in chemistry, where we have to identify an unknown substance...and let me tell you. I AM STUMPED!

I have a silver like substance that kind of looks like glitter

When I added distilled water to it, it turned a forest green color.
(It's an acid)

WHen I ran a flame test, it resulted in a teal & green flame.

On the 18 M SUlfuric acid, a brown gas was produced.

On the Sodium Hydroxide prelimanary test, a teal and blue precipitate was formed.

An EXTREME clorine smell was smelled sometime during the process of these tests.

My teacher said it was not the following:
Barium Chloride.
A Nitrate

Please help me!

The chalococite (CuFeS2) is broken down into Iron (II) sulfide with the help of oxygen gas to produce two products one being sulfur dioxide gas. Write a chemical equation breaking down the ions of each compound (showing all charges). Write a second balanced equation with phase labels that occurs in this process. Then, identify the type of chemical reaction supported by reason.

To help me understand would you kindly show work or explain it to me. Thank you :P and sorry for eating
