The question says Diborane(b2H6) is widley used in the synthesis of organic compounds. Diborane itself is made by the reaction 2NaBH4+I2=B2H2+2NaI+h2. If 6.3g of NaBH4 are reacted with excess I2, how many grams of diborane could theoretically be isolated? If 1.9 g of diborane is actually produced, what is the percent yield of the reaction?
Does anyone know hw to figure this out?

I want to determine the specific gravity of small particulates. I have used chemicals for that purpose in the past, but they were always supplied by others and I do not know the source of the chemicals. The ones I used came in small boxes, and certain amounts were mixed with water to create a clear liquid with a high density. I want to do the same now. Thanks.

I need to know what the chemical or biological substance is that makes a pepper hot. I saw something on public television about this being used to treat pain. The substance was called capsesan (pronounced cap-say-san). Does anyone know the correct spelling?

If the person drank the water or ate the food? (The aluminum sauce pan has a dark ring inside where, apparently, the minerals in the water reacted with the aluminum in the sauce pan.)

I have a plastic wheel glued to a metal axel, so the wheel will not turn. I tried soaking it in acetone nail polish remover, but it has been about an hour, and it still wont move. I would buy super glue remover, but I read that it is just acetone. Any suggestions?

Its number 8 from the 2001 free response, which I have reproduced below:
Account for the following observations
a)Even though NH3 and CH4 have similar molecular masses, NH3 has a much higher boiling point (-33C), than CH4 (-164C).

b)At 25 C, and 1 atmosphere, ethane (C2H6) is a gas, and hexane (C6H14) is a liquid

c)Si melts at a much higher temperature (1410 C) than Cl2 (-101C)

d)MgO melts at a much higher temperature (2852C) than NaF (993C)

In Quantum Mechanics, what does it mean when someone says (1,1,1) or (1,2,3) or (1,2,1) etc. I know it has something to do with the electrons at certain levels but the numbers do not make sense to me. I'm doing a problem where the electrons get excited from a (1,2,1) state to a higher one... how do I figure out what the higher state is?? Is it (1,3,1)???

I know abosolutely nothing about chemistry. Where do I begin to study chemistry? Start with periodic elements? Atoms? Molecules?

Can anyone give me an online link to "learn chemistry easily?" Im out in the woods on this subject. Easy tutorials would be helpful.
