Is there evidence for this or is it theoretical? Can epigenetics lead to speciation in the absence of mutation? Thanks.

BTW: I am NOT a creationist and I do know what a mutation is and what epigenetics marks are.

I'm fed up with creationists saying mutations are always deleterious. Surely there must be at least on recorded example of a benign mutation (in the lab or something).

What are your favourite theories? What is the dominant one in science at the moment?

Urey Mills (was it?).
Iron Sulphur World.
RNA world.
Organic coumpounds from space.
Cells from space (or cell wall materials on asteroids which formed cells when they hit the earth's water)

Those I know of. Are they the mainsream ones, and are there many others? What sites should I visit. I know of a few astrobiology sites, but that's it.

I believe from what I've read that when a parent has a child the parent's genes increase in frequency in the human gene pool.

Let's imagine that the father had the sole copy of an ancient gene. By passing it on to his son the frequency would be doubled from 1 to 2 - right?

If so, here is my question: WHEN does the gene copy enter to pool - at conception, during fetal development, at the birth of the child, or later still, maybe at sexual maturity?

A small number of bees die in the hive and some by preditors.
Why do the majority die away from the hive, remembering that the queen lays up to 1K eggs per day, these bees emerge, and bees only live 6 weeks during the summer. So we never find hundreds of bees dead in a hive, due to normal lifespan.
This question has nothing to do with disseases or preditors.

Molecules in the retina respond to particular wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation - what we think of as visible light - and this is how we can see. Insects can see further into the EM spectrum than we can. Is it conceivable that an organ could evolve which has molecules, crystals or whatever that can transmit and receive radio wavelengths?
