Well Since i'm sick I had to wake up around 3 in the morning to get up and go to the bathroom. While laying in my bed I glanced toward my door and saw a white figure (not really the shape of a body, but kind of a wide straight figure). I simply got up thinking I was just seeing things and moved my way towards the door.

When i got to the door I tripped over something and glanced at the floor to see what it was. Down at my feet I saw a really light white light sitting there. I know for a fact that it wasn't a light in my room, because during the night I make my room as dark as possible, by shutting off all things that make lights..and since my house has alot of property, we don't have neighbors to give off house light.

I know that this wasn't an ordinary ghost, because I've seen alot of those! For some reason this one was different, because it didn't give me a fear of happiness but a good feeling.

Any ideas what this was?

I see answers that suggest ghosts are not the essance of those who were once alive and many claim there are different definitions . Also they claim that ghosts being spirits of people once alive is a modern concept. Where does this come from? Ghosts were thought to be dead people for centuries.

I am just courious where this concept of ghosts not being dead people comes from. I think that is a modern concept.

I know not all ghost sightings are ghosts some could be views of another deminsion etc but the idea that ghosts are never dead people seems and odd theory to me. Thanks in advance

Constantly gravitate towards me? I reckon this is a bit paranormal...They always seem to stop in mid step, stare, and run straight at me; male dogs even tried humping me...And just now I was at the beach (Stanwell Park Sth Sydney - Awesome!) and this dog would not leave my side, and started attacking (teeth barring and going for the neck) about 10 others that were trying to approach me (I was flattered that he felt like protecting me but come on, what's up with this?)

I love them, but they seem to love me even more...

This school is abandoned and is also supposedly haunted. So one day me and my friends decided to investigate. We walk in
and everything is falling apart inside throughout the whole building. Because it has been abandoned for over 40+ yrs i believe. But it seems as every single thing is still there like all desk and gym equipment etc. We begin our investigation in the building comming in from the gym we walk through the halls we hear as if something is being dragged across the floor but as Inspecting every room we find nothing. When we near the room on the top floor we were looking through papers in a desk when i felt really weird and a min later we hear a deep long moan from down the hall and half scared to death we all ran out and back to the car.

what happened here for all of this stuff to be left behind and have no history of what happend

Three years ago, I was on my way to work when I saw what I thought was a large house on a hill. It was about 4:30 in the morning and it was still dark, so I couldn't really identify it. It wasn't until a few hours later that I thought, "There's no house up there! What the hell was that?" It looked like a house or some kind of large building that was lit up. It's still a mystery to this day. I'm not crazy. I know I saw something up there that morning.

I used a ouija board with some friends for a bit of fun, but was a bit reluctant. We asked to talk to a dead spirit and contacted one. He spelt out he was called Bill but then the pointer kept spelling out kill & kill over and over. We laughed & thought each other was trying to scare the other by moving the thing. Next day my brakes went on my car while on motorway, hit another car side on and got whiplash. Nearly died. Other guy in car broke his arm.
Then I found out my friend Steve was killed in accident at work, crushed by crane on building site. Nichola was hurt bad in bathroom, fell and hit artery in leg, blood everywhere. Last night I saw red face bleed out of wall and point at me, grinning. Called my mom but it had gone - I think I am next, what do I do? Anyone help me banish spirit before it is too late? I am really scared and scarred to sleep or do anything in case I die??

my ex died in july and i often go to the cemetery and talk to him. i asked him to give me a sign that he was still with me..(spiritualy) and watching over me.
about 4 days later i had a dream about him and everyting was SO real. but it ended kinda bad. see he "came back" in my dream then at the end he died again. WTF??? what is he trying to tell me? or whas it jsut a coincidence?

My bedroom was downstairs, my mother and sister’s room is upstairs. I got up for work around 6 a.m. and it was still dark. I only turn on the light in my room to iron my clothes. I’m ironing my clothes and I thought I saw something white out of the side of my eye in the hallway go into the bathroom. (The bathroom door is kitty corner to my bedroom door.) But I said no it’s just me. But I could not ignore it so I looked and saw nothing. I went to work as usual. As soon as I got home my sister called me upstairs. She was like I saw something white in the living room this morning. The hair on my arms stood straight up! While she is talking she has tears in her eyes. When I told her what happened she just said “oh sh&t, stop playing”. But how would I know if she didn’t tell me until later. Earlier that morning she had fallen asleep downstairs on the couch and was awakened by my “mother” calling her upstairs. So she said “what?” But no one was there, just a white figure

When I was about 8, I was playing outside by myself. It was fall afternoon in Massachusetts so there were a lot of leaves. I was playing next to a fence that separated this old house no one lived in. It was abandoned and the teenagers used to go in there to see if they would get scared. I was playing and all of a sudden I saw something move very fast behind the fence. To describe it, it looked as if there was a string hidden under the leaves and something was pulling it up. So it looked like something running on top of the leaves except I couldn’t see it. I tried to run but I was completely frozen on the spot. I tried and tried but could not move. I remember tears rolling down my face because I was so scared and could not run. Then all of a sudden I could run. It was like someone un-paused a movie. I ran so fast that I almost fell forward from running too fast. I ran in the house and my mother asked me what was wrong. I said nothing and ate my dinner.

I have accidentally linked with several people over the years and even though they are thousands of miles away I still know when something happens to them. It is disturbing, because I have to call all of them to figure out which one is the source. It is very disruptive and painful sometimes. Panic attacks from an aunt 2000 miles away can be painful, I had a heck of a time tracking her down. can I be trained in some way to know the difference in links, and maybe block some of the more minor physical aches and pains of my links?

I've lost my very important and sentimental scrapbooks with photos of my kids. I was working on them at my mother's house and they disappeared into thin air!! I've searched everywhere for them at her house & mine in case I brought them back home and can't remember (though I don't believe I did) one is pink and one is green. There is also a brown photo album that's missing along with the scrapbooks. Please help!!

When investigating for ghosts or paranormal phenomena?
My opinion is no that we our bodies and the mind is really the only tool we need. But I no longer investigate to "prove" and "document" evidence of ghosts. My reason now is personal and to learn of life after death.

I've been looking at online ghost pictures and there seem to be alot of "orbs" that simply look like dust particles or minute debris that catch the light of the camera and create a circular shape. I can put in eyedrops, squint my eyes and create the same effect. Do these orbs follow you around? How did to come to be that orbs are a paranormal signature? Are we being duped? Im not skeptic. I do believe there is another level of consciousness we fail to understand, however the entire orb thing throws me for a loop.
