I have spent my life on the farm and read many comments by individuals or groups usually with an agenda, that reference farms as "factory farms". I am interested in hearing from individuals who eat meat to the vegan groups, what determines this title.

I inherited a farm and I don't know what to do about the animals on the farm, saying it better I don't know how to take care of them. He has 1 milking cow. Does this cow need shots? How often does this cow need to be checked? How often do you milk it? Is the milk good? He has laying hens and the same questions apply. He has a huge garden I don't know what to do. My mom wants us to move in the house, because it is in better shape than ours, I don't know what to do about the animals. My husband says we can make money off of the cow and the eggs, but I don't know

answering your question yes I am taking care of the animals and the farm but I dont know the first thing about farming and I really would like to keep it. COWS! I dont know the first thing about milking it. Do this cow needs shots? Can anyone drink the milk? How often do you milk it? How often do you have to have it checked? The house is in very good condition, my mom and I are thinking about moving in it, it is in better shape than ours. The garden is huge I don't know how to take care of it. I'm a city girl not a country girl but it is really nice.

I have a social studies booklet to do and just need some answers for a few questions. First, how does climate affect prairie grain crops in Canada? What does too much rain cause? What does not enough rain cause?
Which countries buy grain from Canada?
And finally, are these places all land form types of regions: Swiss Alps, Sahara Desert, and the Great Lakes?

Thanks to anyone that helps =]

Please Yahoo: Feature this question, it is very important.

All sorts of research point out that organic food is healthier for people and better for the environment. No one can scientifically refute that.

If more people can see one important value of organic products which is higher nutrition, more people would be willing to spend a little more on organic foods.

But even though a lot of producers and dealers believe in the goodness of organic products, they don't want to go through the certification process because it can be very expensive.

People: this is what they mean by "scam" ... the benefits of organic foods ARE real. But farmers think it's unfair to be charged ridiculous amounts in fees to be "USDA Certified Organic". They feel they are being charged to do something good for the people and the planet.

Labelling a product "organically grown" doesn't always cut it. People trust "certified".

What do you suggest to make the organic certification more affordable?

There are so many working windmills around here used in pastures for watering livestock. I know this is not the same, but I would just like to know the basics, is it possible to set up something for a single farm?
Thanks for your time.
