I do not think the turkey I had today was anything other than what could be easily bought at the supermarket, however it was juicy, tender, tasty, and, best of all, prepared with love and attention to detail for which I give my hearty thanks.

Thanks, Nickey and Jon!

Today we celebrated our thanks with the abundance that is provided by hundreds of thousands of hard working people in this country (US). Everyone from the farmer to the check out person at the grocery store put in there time and efforts to have the abundance that is offered for us. The mass produced birds are bred to have good sized breasts. I have not had a heritage type breed of turkey and it would be interesting to try one sometime.

I had a mass produced turkey that was fed on grain. I did not eat a free range bird that spent its time scratching around in the dirt and litter trying to find worms and beetle larvae and maggots to eat.

Mine was raised by genuine Native Americans who offered a buffet to celebrate this day.
