You have to wonder. After all, it might be "offensive" and a sign of "intolerance" to an atheist who's trying to re-write America's founding roots: RELIGION.

Mainly Judeo- Christian values too.

I mean, God forbid a Christmas Tree is displayed in a shopping mall. Or a Nativity Scence is displayed on someone's front lawn.

People (Mainly liberals) show much "tolerance" for Islam.

What about Christmas? Why are they trying to have a war on Christmas?

Actually, it's a pretty easy answer.

By the way, here's A FUNNY COMEDY VIDEO that both Conservatives and Liberals should enjoy.

There is an old saying the "People do what is in their own personal best interest." If a person is on wefare and they have the right to vote. If candidate A says

"We need to cut welfare, implement a lifetime limit of 5 years on the government dime, and train these people so that they get a job"

Candidate B says

"We need to increase funding for our social and food stamp programs. Our poor can't afford to live on the meager allowance we give them. We should give $5,000 to every baby born and also fund a retirement program for them."

Which candidate do you think the person on welfare will vote for? Why do you think this way? Do you feel that this is fair to the rest of the citizens?

My answer is that they should not be allowed to vote when they are on the government dime because they would vote always for the candidate that offered them a pay raise for doing nothing. This would make the process fair because the people supporting the welfare recipients make the rule

There is a lot in this country that needs fixing and much of it depends on your point of view. Can we agree however, that hard work by everyone is a beginning? Does anyone take issue the principal that all able bodied people between 21 and 65 should be hard at work?

...presidential veto’s or congresses attempts to override such veto’s? aren't both legitimate uses of power? Whether or not you agree with a veto or an successful/unsuccessful override attempt, what do you think when someone criticizes the president or congress for "theatrics" or "political maneuvering" etc.? of course that’s what it is...THAT is the essence of politics...to get support and advocate an agenda that you will be at odds with others over.

Well there were many complaints of the stamp falling off the letters so president bush immediately ordered a presidential review board to look at the problem.
The review board reported back 3 months later with the following details:
1) the stamp itself follows all guideline correctly for shape size and wieght.
2) the glue on the back of the stamps passes all current adhesive regulations.

3) people are just spitting on the wrong side of the stamps.

It baffles me that the government harms our economy by forcing us to buy hemp from other countries?? Why isn’t it legal to grow hemp, yet it is legal to purchase hemp products? (BTW for those who don’t know you can’t smoke Hemp it wont get you high, and you can’t grow hemp and marijuana (to hide marijuana growth) because the hemp plants are male and female; and marijuana plants are only females and they would be damaged by the male hemp plants) http://votehemp.com/

I'm getting sick of hearing about illegal immigrants on Y!A. So I pose to you this question:
What do you think should be done about it?
"Tighten the border" doesn't cut it.
I want specifics.

Showing us how the people of Germany could have been so blind in the 1930-1940's?

I know I always use to think "How could the people of Germany have been so blind as to let that evil Dictator take over" and then I see it is happening here and I can understand how it could happen.

Do you think that private social security accounts (i.e. you own it) would give you more at retirement than the current system?

I did some number crunching and came up with these numbers.

Fund 401(k) for 45 years
Annual Income of $ 20,000.00- increasing 2% per year
Beginning Balance= $ .0
Contribute 7.65% of Salary -Invested Twice Monthly
Your Employer will match 100% up to 7.65% of salary - Annually
(hint: the above is the same as current system deducts from everyone's earnings which means that you'd feel nothing in your pocket book to make this happen.)
Annual Interest Rate = 7% - Compounded Annually
ending balance at age 65 = 1,154,983.81
yearly interest earned at 3.3% = 38,748.55
that's 3,229 per month.

Currently, the SS system gives us around 1,079 per month or a total of 12,948 per year.

Which way would be better for everyone?

Sandy Berger is a convicted criminal, the fact that he was allowed to plead guilty to a lesser charge is a disgrace, and irrelevant. The guy has shown himself to be a thoroughly corrupt individual, who found it more important to protect the Clinton administration from answering for their mistakes, than to help protect America.

Bush yesterday said Iran having 'Nucular' technology will cause WWIII. Last election cycle he said if Democrats get elected we would be attacked again. If we don't have domestic spying the terrorist will kill us all.
Every time he wants something he threatens us with death and destruction if we don't do things his way. I'm tired of him trying to terrorize America.
