No you can't be sacked legally, a 'Local Authority' worker on a Labour controlled council sacked one of its staff when the staff member was found to be a BNP member. The staff member was dragged before a tribunal and sacked.

The case went to court and the member of staff was reinstated, the council also had to pay costs and loss of earnings.

The BNP and UKIP are the only political parties listening to our calls to the government on Immigration and Europe. We need to give the BNP the support it deserves, any less support will mean we, 'The Native' must resign ourselves to total annihilation. At the end of the day its up to you, you must decide whether the SWP takes over this forum or common sense. Voting for the mainstream parties is not common sense.

I don't see why you could be sacked - ths is a free country and whether or not your boss agrees with your choice of political views is not grounds for dismissal. It would depend whether your views and membership interfered with your work, ie if you were being racist to non white colleagues and customers etc.

I had a boss who was a BNP member once, she was a completely vile, evil horrible old hag. Shame the company didn't sack her.

Membership, in and of itself, would not be a sacking offence normally but if you campaigned in their favour in the workplace or even profesed your active support for their policies you risk violating race-hate and anti-incitement legislation, which would get you sacked.

This may not be the case in the Civil Service, as they ban membership of any fascist or communist party, so being a BNP member could well get you sacked.

Should be because as another answerer said, it would go against any equal opportunities and anti racism policy the workplace may have.

Edit - Mr Sceptics link - OMG and he had the cheek to claim it was racial discrimination!!!!! You couldn't paint a brass neck on a member of the BNP

It seems that it is perfectly legal to sack someone if their membership of the BNP affects their ability to do their work safely and impartially.

You can't be fired in the UK for being a memeber of any political party but all companies will have an anti-racism policy and may view membership of this particular party as violating this policy

Almost certainly. What can be said with more conviction is that once outed one would be detested and reviled by all colleagues of all colours anyway, crushing the already pitiful self esteem, increasing the acne and other skin complaints and all round inadequacy, which would probably lead to a swift resignation, leading to a prolonged period of unemployment, enforced solitude, despair , petty crime and ending horribly with imprisonment or institutional imposed rest.
Perhaps consider the local pigeons fanciers club instead.

You should not be, it is a legal political party (albeit with a few bad eggs). A few years from now the BNP will be pointing at england and saying "i told you so"
