Aircraft crashes into N.Y. building
A small aircraft has crashed into a high-rise residential building at 72nd Street and York in Manhattan, police said. Police are en route to the site, said to be at 525 E. 72nd Street. Flames and smoke could be seen pouring from the high rise apartment as fire engines raced to the scene.

There saying it's not terrorist related.

What's your opinion on this? It sure scares me.

Today they had to make a public apology for messing about trying to see if one of them could squeeze inside a tumble drier & endure being spun around. The act was captured on a camera phone & the footage got released to the media. Presumably what outraged people is that they were doing it whilst on paid duty?
I'm sure they train frequently, but it's the nature of the job that there will be some very boring periods for full-time firemen whilst waiting for a call-out... so what is so wrong with them keeping themselves occupied? A dangerous stunt, but at least it stops them from dying of boredom, and I'm sure their job is a lot more dangerous at times.
Isn't it the person that released the footage that should really be apologising for the embarassment caused to the fire brigade?
Is it irresponsible of the media to broadcast an isolated incident that isn't really 'news', especially where the only outcome would enevitably be harm to the reputation of a public service?

It appears in a sample of 100,000 SAT scores, males tend to score about 4 points higher(IQ).
(I'm sure some lesbians must take issue with this, and a lot of people will just pawn this off as politically motivated(just like those ice caps that are melting is"politically motivated" ...to come forth with scientific evidence)).

Woman tend to be better in languages, men in math, and 3-D spatial problems. Seems we were not hard-wired or designed to do the same stuff...imagine that!

Yes, we are all created equal under the eyes of the law, however natures laws do not deem it neccessary that we are all on equal terms or need to be.

I sure know one thing. The power that be sure make a monkeys a$$ out of ALL of us when it comes to marketing, and how effectively we are removed from our money, be it "SALES", or "HEMI'S" or whatever.

Iraq invaded without solid proof of WMD's...and never found any. Iran enriches Uranium, does everything it can to prove they are not trying to make a weapon, USA not buying it. North Korea actually builds a bomb, so they fear an attack as well, something they claim to have done to stave off an attack. Now Bush has said he won't attack North Korea. Is our reputation as a nation in the gutter now or what? Is the Iraq situation now lead to what could become a full-scale war in a place that we are not fully prepared to defend? I gotta tell ya, I'm scared for us all.

Is it time to consider that Israel was a very good idea on paper but that it turned into a horrific reality? and should we think about another refuge for the Jews? (maybe a piece of land in USA?)

Every time the president of the US urges sanctins or repercussions, people die. Soldiers and civilians alike and he says it is to protect America. Well Mr Bush, this doesnt affect America at all, but I have a bet that says America will send in troops before Christmas to secure another little pain in the *** state for the great USA. Wake up America George Bush and his administration are killing your people and others as well. When does it stop. Thank God he can never be president again Maybe your children will grow up to meet their grandchildren not die in an ACTION before they are 25

Looks to me that Bush is teetering on an acceptance of the fact that the US military is stretched far too thin as it is. Not only that I really believe that he is afraid of further military action albeit his further rhetoric that the US "reserves all options to defend our friends in the region." (China has a HUGE military, much larger than the US. Why would they need the US?)

Pres. Bush called Wednesday for stiff sanctions on North Korea for its reported nuclear test. In a Rose Garden news conference, Bush said the United States "reserves all options to defend our friends in the region, and .
"remains committed to diplomacy. He also said that the "United States has "no intention of attacking" the reclusive regime."It didn't work in the past. ... I learned a lesson from that. You have a better diplomatic hand with others sending the message," Bush said.
He supports a resumption of six-way talks among North Korea, South Korea, China, Russia, Japan and the United States.

Bush used it about three times in his press conference today. Does he know what it means? Does he understand that Iraq is closer to a caliphate today than before we invaded?
