Any time an innocent person dies, it is horrible. What this man had planned to do to those poor children in unfathomable. My family was on vacation in Lancaster when it happened, the hotel was one room over.

It's very upsetting. It shouldn't have happened. Anyone that has problems like this guy obviously had, should reach out for help. Doctor, friends, family. Someone could have guided him to get help. And if you see someone falling into a state like this, force them to get the help they need. Or make the right people aware of what you see in someone. I love the Amish, they are the most protective and loving people in the world. Why this happened to them, only God knows. It's sad.

what is sad is that we have sick individuals that prey on peaceful people like the Amish. We will now hear about gun control, teachers armed etc. but what is the real solution to the real problem?? if guns are gone, what about knives?? or rocks?? it is the sick soul of humanity that is causing all these problems, people are pushed to the limit and they have no outlet for anger ,fear, or the medical system to heal broken minds and hearts?we will eventually live in a society of locked doors and fortresses of learning ,work, play, home?? is this freedom??we have a system that locks bad people away but is it working??they seem to be getting loose faster than being confined? is it the courts fault?or our own uninvolvement or lazyiness to solve the ills of society? this problem needs everyone to look into theirselves for an answer. God bless those who were taken from their familys and forgive the trespasses of those who committed heinous crimes.

They should have cut that guys head off and immediately put it on heart lung machine, and ever so often bring him to consciousness so his face could be rubbed with sandpaper. till Sun goes out. This would sure give others something to think about before doing the same.

Obviously a horrible, horrible tragedy. And the "church" out of Kansas that pickets at fallen soldiers funerals were going to picket at the little girls' funerals too as they believe the girls deserved to die. Sick, nasty people. A woman from the church went on Fox News and told the world that. Stupid people........
