Recently President Bush in a speech appealed to the Iranian people
"Your rulers have chosen to deny you liberty and to use your nation's resources to fund terrorism and fuel extremism and pursue nuclear weapons," Bush told Iranians.
Although he might be right, do you think, that “him” saying it, would sway support away from the Iranian regime, or indeed would galvanise it ! or will it get ignored ?
Did Iranian president's famous letter to Washington, sway any support from Bush, strengthened it, or fell on deaf ears ?

No mercy for Bali bombers, says Howard
September 15, 2006
PRIME Minister John Howard says he will wear criticism he has double standards for opposing death penalties for Australians, but not asking for clemency for the Bali bombers.
Mr Howard said when it came to the Bali bombers on death row, he could not find it in his heart to ask for clemency.

Mr Howard made the comments when asked what his government will do on behalf of the six Bali Nine members facing the death sentence for trying to smuggle 8.3kg of heroin to Australia last April.

"I'm against the death penalty," he told Southern Cross Broadcasting.

"I'm certainly against the death penalty being applied to Australians.

"If you're going back to my reaction in relation to the Bali bombers, I cannot find it in my heart to publicly ask the Indonesian government to spare the lives of the people who murdered 88 Australians.

"I'm sorry, but if people think that means I've got a double standard, and some will say that, I will have to cop that criticism."

Mr Howard said it was a matter of commonsense, in relation to Australians, that he did not believe in the death penalty.

"I don't believe in it in Australia because the law can make mistakes, that's my pragmatic reason,'' he said.

"It follows from that, that we will always argue for clemency for Australians."

He said the government had already spent a lot of money on behalf of the nine Australians sentenced in Bali, notably 20-year-old Scott Rush, one of those facing execution.

What is happening with this trial for Saddam as it is turning into a farce.
The judge has been sacked because he said that Saddam was not a Dictator, and now his Defence team have resigned, what the heck is going on.
Now I agree that he should go on trial so why dont they just get on with it or, is this really all about Politics and a good show.
Put him on trial and then if foung guilty execute him.

i think if we didn't need oil anymore, we could bankrupt opec and then this islamic militant problem would cave in on itself. they would all be fighting to keep the money they had if they knew the world wasn't addicted to oil anymore.

There is a bill for internet neutrality. No republicans are supporting this bill. Big bussiness is trying to get those who can pay big bucks to get preferintial treatment ON THE NET. Rs are in a tough position and do not want this to be a major issue. We are many write your local R and demand he support it or he will lose your support. It can be an issue If we the many make it one. Later it will cost big bucks in legal fees to fight but now it is election time. Make it an issue while it is free. WE ARE MANY MAKE IT AN ISSUE

Im not sure if it's legit, but if it was I guess I would be a multimillion aire by now. How many of you have received emails by so-called online lottery companies(and there are different names they go by) informing you that you have been choosen by a random drawing of emails of users world wide by a computer system and that you have won $1,000,000 U.S. dollars. I don't know about you, but I constantly recieved emails like these once every month or so and each time its by a different lottory company with different sponsors. I think there are evil and desperate people out there who would do anything to steal your identity and money to go to this length. The reason why I'm posting this is to find out am I the only target of this so-called online lottery or are there many people out there who also have been the victim of this cruel tactic. If this by any chance happens to be honestly true, then let me know if you have actually won anything. Most likely this is a fraud.

Anousheh Ansari, an Iranian by birth who moved to the USA at 16, is now the first Iranian woman in space, after paying out about $20 mil for the place. The USA have told her not to wear the iranian flag next to the stars & stripes on her space suit, which she wanted to do to try & promote peace & reconiliation between the two countries.
a personal view is that she's paid for the place, why in heck should the US government have a say in what she wears?
