I think it's a very fitting tribute to a guy who went and conquered his dreams and his love of wildlife. Do you agree or disagree and why?

Steve lived his life like no other and nobody could understand how and why he has done what he has done. The press made him look like a man who was careless with his children but he knew so much more than us and he loved his family so much that he would never ever deliberately put his family in any risky situation. He always had it in hand. The press just blew it out of context and showed the scene in a bad view. That's the Aussie way, cut down the tall poppy and when he died they resurrected him again. It's always to their advantage. Don't ever compare him to Michael Jackson. He lived his life for conservation and he loved and understood animals especially crocks. Just look at his family and Bindi, what a great speech she gave!
No matter what people thought of him he to me was a man with a will to better our country and he had a personality that beamed. He was a great father and a great icon of Australia. In his death he has made many people aware of our fragile world. Thanks Steve.

I think those idiots who have nothing better to do other than put people down when they are dead should get a life.
Steve Irwin and his family built Australia zoo with the intention of saving and, breeding species of animals that were in danger of dying out and releasing them back into the wild, they had and, still do this.
All these people who run him down see him as someone on the TV putting on a show, instead of a real human being who cared passionately about all animals so before they run him down why not look further at what all his family do and treat him and family with the respect he truly deserves.

He knew the risks, but was prepared to take them! - Life cannot always be lived by sitting in a protective box. You couldn't imagine someone with such boundless energy and enthusiasm growing old and fading away.

The saddest thing is the reports of Australians going out and killing Stingrays out of revenge - It is the last thing Steve Irwin would have wanted.

Stevie "Sting" Irwin was a boofhead who made his reputation and his money by teasing wild animals.
An ocker: the risk-taking, the forced bonhomie, the too loud voice.
Human beings have tens of thousands of years of adaptation to life on the earth. You don't enter an alien environment unless you exercise extreme care, but that's something "Sting" wouldn't have considered applied to himself.
His "love" of animals and concern for conservation came about as a PR thing to counter his gravely stupid feat with the baby.
He was an entertainer who wowed his fans with acts of daring. Those fans are out there killing animals to get revenge. Where is his great message of conservation and protection?

I agree Steve Irvin was brilliant , the way he got really excited about what he did is a lesson to all of us . Very few people live , let alone die , doing what they love , and i for one can't think of anything better , i love his programs and he obviously had fun making them . He will be missed by all he touched whether personally or through his media . Rest in peace Crocodile man

Im sorry to have to say this, but i only ever watched 2 of his programs,1 sometime ago, and the other last week, which was a compilation to his death,i have a problem, watching these programs, i thought to my self, if i were in captivity,ie. in a pond, and a crowd of people then turned up, and some guy, to show me of , poked me with a stick , id be none to chuffed, and likewise if i was taking a kip, and some bloke came by my left ear with a lawn mower,( i know what my old dad would have done )i think i would be a tad irate, so to sum up , I'm of the opinion that yes he was in later life a true conservationist, but in his early years a some what cruel showman, compare him to a circus , you would not get away with it , in this day and age,the question as to be asked did he antagonise the stingray as he had done other animals

Well I'm not sure he conquered his dreams but he certainly made a big difference to conservation by causing millions to take an interest in nature and conservation. He is nothing short of a hero in my book. I didn't actually enjoy watching him, it was too silly for me but I really appreciate what he did.

I totally agree. He had a terrific life, and he lived it as fully to the hilt as he could. Who of us can say the same? He BELIEVED in something, and spent his life sharing his enthusiasm with the world. He will be missed, and no one can ever take his place. He was one of a kind.
