My sister was shipping a package overnight for me via UPS. The package was mistakenly placed in the Fed-Ex drop box. She called Fed-ex right away and they assured her that the package was going to be placed in the UPS box (which was right next to it) They said the driver would scan it right there and realize it was a UPS package and place it in the drop box.

I was supposed to receive this package at 10:30 am today and UPS has no info on the package (it does not show it was scanned). They said I have to wait until tomorrow to begin a trace on the package. Meanwhile Fed-Ex says they put it in the UPS box, they obviously cannot guarantee this but that is their answer. I had the box delivered to my work because I needed it ASAP. As luck would have it, today is also my last day here. What can I do??

I was fired over the phone and they sent one of the managers to supervise the procedure. They made me do all of my notes before telling me that they're firing me. When they gave out the reason, there are no memos supporting their claims. Is this still a case? Happened in Illinois.
